bottle poured into a tasting glass. pours a rich brownish amber with a single finger of eggshell colored head. poor retention and no lacings.
aroma is of lightly spicy and piney hops with a distant malty base. the bouquet of hops takes the front seat and is quite fresh. nicely composed in the nose.
taste is of mild caramel malts up front with a wonderfully balanced profile, along with the same hop bouquet from the aroma. finishes on a smooth note that leaves only a bit of residual spicy hops after the fact.
mouthfeel is medium bodied with a very well balanced on the palate. a solid presence on the palate.
drinkability is good. an excellent amber: well balanced and mellow on the palate with just enough flavor to give it character.
