12 oz bottle poured into a pub glass. pours a rich copper brown color with a single finger of light tan head that has decent retention and no lacings. typical brown in the nose.
aroma is of rich caramel malts, toffee, and a nutty base with faint roasted malts. very rich and complete in the nose with a well proportioned profile.
taste is of light caramel and toffee with a nutty note and a very smooth character. the flavors are inseperable. very well put together with a fresh and flavorful profile. as the brew warms a bit the nutty character comes forth.
mouthfeel is medium bodied and velvety smooth. this is a quintessential nut brown. very smooth finish and satisfying on the palate.
drinkability is solid. very fresh and satisfying nut brown with a very drinkable aura. the brew works on all levels: drinkable, well proportioned, nicely concentrated and delicious. another great brew from Ale Asylum. cheers!
