Pours dark brown with a floating island. Almost no lacing sticks.

The smell is of cocoa with dark-ish earthy notes.

The taste is of powdery chocolate that improves with the progression of the drink. Minerally, earthy bitterness in the finish.

It leans towards fizzy and thin, and though it does improve with progression/warming to room temperature, it still could have more of a body to it. (A second bottle confirmed this.)

The chocolate does move beyond "powdery" and there is balance to it. It's a nice enough porter overall.

A - Pours dark, almost black. Slight hints of light make it through when held up to the light. Produced two fingers of head that lasted approx. 3 min before dissipating. Some lacing at the top of the glass. Head is a light brown creamy color with good scents.

S - Lightly sweet, woodsy smell. Scents of chocolate and wood dominate the bouquet.

T - Similar to the scents, bitter chocolate dominates. The flavor starts strong, but dissipates quickly, little to no bite (but more so than other porters I've had) flavor and a taste of coffee remains at the end.

M - Medium to thin bodied, the beer starts thick, but doesn't stick around long before leaving the tastes permeating the entire mouth. Slightly creamy, but lacking in textual footprint.

O - One of my favorite porters ever. The flavors are more dominate in this porter than in others and the lingering flavors/smells make it an excellent choice.
