Ballistic IPA is a fully loaded American-style IPA. The use of American Amarillo hops give it explosive citrus aromas and aggressive bitterness with a smooth finish.

Pours a opaque copper/honey color with an off-white half finger head..
The smell is floral, pineapple, grapefruit, and of course pine. I also get the sweetness from the malts on the nose as well.
The taste follows the nose, citrus and pine... very bitter... but with the sweetness from the malts this is very well balanced. I love that this is not over the top... perfect!
I love how rich and full-bodied this is..Ale Asylum always impresses me with their well crafted beers. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their offerings. A+

My neighbor and I split a 6pck of this. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with white head that left some spotty lace. The scent had hints of pine and sweet malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink for an ipa. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Golden-orange with a decent initial head that hangs around for awhile.
Pine and grapefruit in the nose.
Pine the predominant flavor here, some citrus and malt backbone, but the finish marred by diacetyl.
Medium-light mouthfeel.
Middle of the road, but the off-flavors towards the end were off-putting. Perhaps not the freshest?

from a single with no date stamp, purchased a week ago at the Nova, into a spieglau ipa glass, pours a very hazy dark burnt orange with a 2 finger puffy off-white head that leaves good lacing and has some nice retention. Nose is pretty nice, with a lot of citrusy tangerine, a little honey-scented spiciness, and some caramel and bready malt. The taste and feel don't quite live up to the promise of the nose -- flavors aren't quite as sharp, distinct, or interesting. Pretty malty on the tongue, substantial body and even a little heavy; a little hoppy tingle mid-way through, but the finish is mainly round orangey caramel notes, and a little rough. I love Amarillo, but this is only modestly good vehicle. The bitterness is okay, but not very satisfying or clean. I'd love to have more dry-hopping. All in all, this is okay but in a crowded field...it isn't hard to find something better. Would be nice to know how old this one is...

Comes out almost light brown, darker amber appearance, 3/5" white head. Lots of crystal malt, c hops, mild grapefruit impact.
Taste hit some sweet and bitter notes. More caramel. Heavy body. Another 7.5% single ipa, pushing itself into imperial territory. Would have liked more dry hopping, more late stage hops, just a shift away from its high bitterness would be nice, but its still a good beer doing what it does.
A worthy second tier ipa from this region.

Quite tasty, love the hop and very smooth going down. Wish it was a little more carbonated. IMO a pleasure to drink.
