Served in a Half Acre tulip.

A- Nice caramel with a 2 finger off-white head. Lots of spotty lacing remain on the glass.

S- Biscuit and some sweet malts. Lots of pine and floral hop aromas.

T- Nice caramel malt body with slight bready/biscuity taste. Actually get some slight citrus notes, but still dominated by spicy, herbal, pine hop bitterness.

M- Medium body and carbonation. Although this beer is fairly bitter it doesn't have a dry finish or lingering aftertaste.

O- This beer grows on you as you drink it. First sip wasn't too impressed, but after a few drinks I noticed this beer is a little more balanced than first thought.

A hazy, amber-rust, with a fast-going head that sticky's up the glass.

A wholly anonymous aroma, quiet, very reserved. I mean it's hard to get anything in the nose. Some wine-like fruit, candy shell. That's about all, folks.

In the mouth the fruit steps forth as navel orange and pineapple, turning to tart lemonade in the middle. White grapefruit rind bitterness in the long finish. A little sweetness lingers. The 8.5% alcohol is there, but not calling attention to itself.

I wish there were more malt, caramel malt would be nice. The sweet fruit provides balancing. I just wish it were more grainy.

Best by 04/2014:

Pours hazed orange amber with a foamy off-white head that stays. Ample lacing sticks.

The smell is of citrus, pine, caramel and black pepper.

The taste is of sweet caramel and resin with medicinal/aspirin-ish bitterness in the finish.

It just hits full-bodied. It is chewy and very smooth with a carbonation level that fits it well.

This is a satisfying DIPA. Appropriately strong with lingering hop bitterness.

Thanks to mhksuccess for sharing this at dabaloons' tasting.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, honey, citrus zest, and floral aromas. Taste is much the same with earth and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some fairly earthy flavors.
