Huge thanks to BarrytheBear for this bottle. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with about two fingers of fluffy off white head that settles down after a few minutes to a thin layer with some nice lacing.

Smell: First wave of the aroma is sweet citrus notes from the citra hops, next wave is the trappist-style yeast. Very sweet tropical fruit notes throughout.

Taste: Sweet orange and tangerine mixed with semi-sweet/bitter grapefruit mixed with bitey pine. The yeast is mixed in very well and doesn't take away from the citra hops. The aftertaste is the yeast and spices.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied and very oily on the tongue.

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer and would definitely seek out again. Definitely my favorite beer from Ale Asylum that I've tried. Surprisingly under the radar.

Pours into my imperial pint glass a bright orange with a creamy inch of white foam that lingers on and on. Hazy particulate swirls through the brew. Aromas kick off with bold citric hops and a tropical twang as well. Really fruity with an earthy fresh yeast zing that melds in nicely. Blends together and draws you in.

First sip brings smooth crisp malt body intertwined with a bounty of citric resiny hop flavors. Really fruity throughout with a twist of tropical. Earthy, fresh yeast flavors blend themselves in. Flows down with a good bitterness and a clean, easy drinking finish. Tasty, refreshing brew.

Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Good body and carbonation add up to equal easy drinkability. This is another great brew from Ale Asylum and I love it when they bring the hops! Good way to showcase the Citra hops and the Trappist yeast brings a tasty twist. Thanks Severstad.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall Summit glass.

Appearance: Pours a fairly hazy copper amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of off white head that fades into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a good amount of creamy lacing around the glass.

Smell: A yeasty Belgian style aroma with a big presence of citrus hop esters. Upfront Belgian yeast with some barnyard funk, pepper, and clove. Big hop presence with some floral and earthy hints of grass. Juicy citrus hop esters with hints of orange peel, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, and lemon zest. Also some fruit hints of banana and apple. Some bready malt with hints of caramel, grains, and biscuit. A really good aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, spicy and fruity Belgian yeast with a big presence of earthy and citrus hops. Belgian yeast along with some barnyard funk, peppers, and clove spice. Dried fruit notes of banana. Sharp hop presence with earthy and floral notes of grass and pine spice. Juicy citrus hop taste of orange peel, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, lemon, and passion fruit. Bready malt background with notes of sweet caramel, grains, cracker, and biscuit. A really solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Spicy, juicy, and slightly oily. Drying and fairly smooth.

Overall: A really good take on a Belgian IPA. This really brings the IPA part with lots of juicy hops but there is enough Belgian yeast spice to keep things interesting.

(Served in a tulip)
A- This beer has lots of micro jetsam in a deep orange body with a sticky oatmeal colored beige head. There is a sluggish microcarbonation working to the surface.

S- The green earthy bright hops blend with a mellow tropical fruit hops and the aroma grows more full as it opens.

T- The juicy hops have green fruity flavor with some jammy qualities and yeast ester fruity notes blend in. A nice green hop bite in the finish balances a malt sweetness and woody green hop lingers.

M- Medium mouthfeel with a creamy texture and no alcohol heat.

O- The full hops flavor has some nice depth with good Citra qualities and some good sweetness and bitterness balance.

Poured a cloudy copper color with quite a bit of off-white head. Pretty good lacing as well.

Smell is largely fruity citrus. Not a lot of hops in the smell.

Taste is very nice - citrusy throughout with a slight bitter finish. Not much hops here though.

Mouthfeel is light and refreshing. This is a great summer beer.

Overall a really good tasting beer. I'll definitely look for this one again.
