I stopped at the Ale Asylum on a tuesday afternoon at about lunchtime before leaving town. I sat at the end of the bar and immediately the guy sitting next to me started up a conversation. Turns out that he is one of the brewers/owners of the place. Very friendly and you could tell he loved to talk about and just loved beer.
Ale Asylum is a nice brewpub with a modern look. Stainless steel and black dominate much of the decoration. Beers were good and the pizza (freshly put together that morning) that I had for lunch was good enough that I ate enough that I was a little uncomfortable. Service was very good. Never had a empty glass or was in question about anything. Selection for beer is nice, with 10 taps or so, covering most major styles. The Ambergeddon is a highlight in this reviewer's opinion.
Do yourself a favor and stop by. I look forward to trying some more of their stuff at the Great Taste of the Midwest in August.
