Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine one finger off-white head with good retention and lots of lacing. Rich aroma of caramel malt, tropical fruit, lighter citrus and citrus hops. Flavor is caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, tropical fruit, grapefruit rind, finishes with high octane resiny pine and citrus hop bitterness, warming. Very pleasant creamy body. An intense but balanced IIPA, there is a bit of booziness in the finish, but it is accompanied by great hop flavors. Port has shown they can produce tasty IPAs and this is one of them. This bottle is now about two months old and still has great hop character. I came back to add a bit to the taste points after my first glass, chalk it up to the high ABV talking, but this ale tasted great with every sip.

Appearance: Murky golden orange color. Huge head of about three fingers on the pour which settled but was present while drinking. Sticky random lacing left on the sides of the glass. On the lower side of active carbonation for the style.

Smell: Potent bite of heavy pine on the front. Tropical citrus fruits with accents of mango, pineapple, kiwi, and tangerines make up the body. Pepper, spices, and caramel malt rounds out the aroma.

Taste: Medium bodied pine and peppery spices greet the palate. Kiwis, mangos, salt water taffy, and grapefruit highlight the body. Soft fruits come mid palate and really pull this IPA together and are recognized from other Port DIPAs (Hop 15). Sweet malt finish with some light lingering pine.

Mouthfeel: Great contrasts of heavy pine and sweet soft fruits. Dryness on the finish is crisp and clean. Carbonation is perfectly integrated.

Overall: Another outstanding offering from Port. This one is massively complex with contrasting tones which are welcome. This and Hop 15 may be two of the most underrated DIPAs on the market.
