Aroma is of pine resin along with a sticky sweet malt base behind it. Not the most pungent beer out there for style. Hard to say from the smell just how this will be.
Pours a hazy orange yellow color with a pretty nice head in my Port pint glass. Not bad.
Definitely a resinous, pine forward IPA here. I wouldn't call it extremely aggressive, but it's firm. The sweet malt base is far behind, perceptible but not too heavy. Finish features more resin, lingering on the sides of the tongue and contributing to a dry finish. The ABV is hidden though warming.
It's a good DIPA, no question. I appreciate a hop forward DIPA as opposed to a very malty one, and I like how this one doesn't go over the top with the bitterness. I read its description on the website and they created it to be a hop forward beer of pine resinous character. They succeeded there.
