A: Pours a hazy, amber orange with a ton of head that sticks around forever and leaves tons lacing around the glass as you drink. Some particulates were present, the bottom of the bottle had quite a bit of sediment so care should be taken on the pour (unless you want to mix it in). Carbonation seemed a bit high, it even made a hissing noise as I opened it. Reminded me of a home brew. Still, I wouldn't call it over carbonated.
S: Tons of hops and a subtle breaded maltiness. I detect both pine and citrus notes, mostly grapefruit, despite the "resinous" flavor touted on the label. Seems pretty straight forward.
T: As advertised, a very bold hop flavor smacks you in the face. The pine resin notes come through much more prominently on the tongue than the nose, though there is still a fair amount of citrus. The overall flavor is quite bitter and there isn't a definite malt presence. It's there, but it's pretty subtle. Clearly, that was what they were going for, but I could use a bit more balance. This one definitely loiters in the mouth long after the swallow with bitter citrus and pine hop flavors. Alcohol is masked extremely well.
M: Medium bodied with ample substance, good carbonation levels (if a bit over carbonated) and a bit of chewiness. This one definitely has some oily qualities from the hops that cause it to stick around for quite awhile. Fairly drinkable, but not a little bit bitter for my taste.
O: Well, this was as advertised; a bold, robust and very much hopped West coast IPA. I prefer my IPAs with a bit more balance, and I also prefer citrus over pine. This one has both, but is definitely pine-dominant. That said, I knew what I was getting myself into and I still enjoyed this brew quite a bit. There's no doubt this is a quality brew that is sure to please hop heads everywhere. Cheers!
