Bottled 5/5/2011 and sampled on 6/22/2011. I figured the hops would have faded but if they did, this was probably borderline unbearable when it was fresh.
A: An orangey amber pour that's not quite clear - just a bit cloudy. Huge, fluffy off-white head that retains very well. In fact, the entire time I drank this bomber the head never completely settled, there was always an 1/8" or so. Nice lacing too. Top notch.
S: Huge hops. Citrus, followed by almost equally strong pine. There is a nice bready malt smell in there too. All together it makes for quite an impression.
T: Definitely a hop-forward typical west-coast style DIPA. Strong, sweet grapefruit and lemon. Pine resin mixes in in the middle. Maybe a little bit of alcohol and a bit of grass. Quick, relatively drying finish. Surprisingly little bitterness in the aftertaste. Almost no indication of malt in the taste. Unbalanced but not necessarily in a bad way - especially if you like your hops.
M: Pretty heavy given that it's a 10% DIPA. As mentioned, the alcohol has a bit of a drying effect. Surprisingly the bitterness doesn't last too badly given the hop bomb nature and lack of balancing malts. Surprisingly clean given the hop overload, no typical bitterness that sticks around forever.
O: Pretty good and definitely up any hop-lovers alley. The beer is unbalanced as a whole but the hops are balanced with each other. There are distinctive hop smells and flavors, not any one drowning the rest out.
I liked it, just wish it had a bit more malt and it would be a solid A rating I think.

Good orange appearance with a small 1/4" head on it, aroma was yielding more malt sweetness than I ever expected from a Pizza Port dipa. Kinda weird that the hops didn't pop here.
Taste was 100ibu size bitterness. Sticky malt, although lighter than initially thought. This was decent, but also a disappointment coming from one of the world's best hoppy beer makers.
