Poured into a hotel bar’s pint glass

Sight: Opaque black with a touch of red highlights. A big, thick, tan head sits on top, reminding me of an iced-coffee frappe. The head recedes to a thin cap, and the lacing it leaves behind is erratic- I’ll chalk it up to the glass, and not the beer.
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, roasted barley, malt sweetness. There’s a distinct but subtle brightness from the hops. Citrus?

Taste: The taste follows the aroma closely. Roasted coffee and chocolate notes, a bit of malty sweetness. The middle boasts bitterness, with more roasted barley. It finishes with the hops, still subtle and citrusy.

Feel: Gentle carbonation, silky smooth, plus a medium thickness. Some might say this is a little thin for the style, but it’s easy to drink.

Overall: This hides the 7.5 abv quite well, and Harmon provides a good offering with their stout. Can’t wait to see what else Tacoma has to offer, but I’m off to a good start. The price might have helped my choice. (1,012 characters)

22oz poured into my snifter...

Dark mocha brown, thin brown head.

Another very nice surprise, quite the big tasting stout lots of big flovors going on... sweet chocolate, oak, slight bitterness at the end. mouthfeel is everything in these porters/stouts and this is damn near perfect. Quite the beer from Harmon. will be picking up more of this in the future for sure. (370 characters)

Had on draft at Harmon Taproom on 2/5/12.

Appearance: Pure black pour with a small tan head that left lots of lacing.

Smell: Coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate on the front end. Made me excited to give it a go.

Taste: Initial rush of sweetness that was a bit much for me, and then it immediately mellowed out to a nice coffee flavor with some chocolate notes. The initial burst of sweetness is hard to pinpoint, and I wish the beer didn't have that flavor on the front end. Seemed like something was wrong with this batch.

Mouthfeel: Full-bodied and still not overly thick or chewy.

Overall: Aside from the initial flavor that seemed too sweet and unnatural for a stout, I liked this beer. The coffee flavor was spot on and the beer was quite drinkable. I want to try this one from the bottle and see how it is. (824 characters)

Poured dark cola brown with a finger of dark tan head. Big aroma of milk chocolate with some nice roast and hints of coffee and caramel.

Moderately high carbonation and a creamy but slightly light mouthfeel. Sweet chocolate and caramel malt up front with some mellow espresso and a roasty, slightly bitter finish.

Easy-drinking stout with some big flavor going on. (366 characters)

Black with a well-retained fluffy/frothy brown head. Roasted coffee aroma. Roasted malt with a good balancing sweetness and light molasses. Thick, almost oatmeal-like feel with a light bite.

Nice drinking roasty stout that’s balanced nicely without the roasted malts overpowering the flavor. Easy drinking for a pint but becomes fairly bland by the end of a 22oz bottle. (373 characters)

On draught at Harmon, Stryker Stout is black with a tan collar leaving no lace.

Smell is sweeter, a bit of chocolate, a touch of malt balls. A hint of alcohol wafts out as it warms.

Taste is very smooth, again, on the sweeter side, almost porter like. But they make fantastic porters, so this sturdy one is great. Chocolate, a little roast peeks out as it warms.

Mouthfeel is smooth, almost oatmeal stout like, with a medium body. A little syrupy, but tempered by very light but creamy carbonation.

Drinkability is pretty good. It's smooth but full flavored, and well balanced if a bit sweet. Well done. (611 characters)

Pours pitch black, brown head that quickly turns to light lacing. Smells of coffee, chocolate, yeast. Taste is bitter chocolate and coffee, slight malt sweetness, slight anise. Mouthfeel is medium as is the carbonation. Overall a pretty solid stout and I wouldnt mind drinking this all night. (292 characters)

A: Poured jet black with good carbonation and a nice brown cap

S: Roasted malt, cocoa, some espresso

T: Starts out with a big roastiness, loads of espresso, toughes of cocoa. Loads of flavor.

M: Big body, nice mouthfeel, lots of taste

O: A very tasty and drinkable stout. This single American Stout has more flavor and body than many Impy Stouts I have had. Harmon scores. (376 characters)
