Sweet and tangy hoppy brew with a touch of caramel. Golden amber in the tall glass. Light body Modest aromatics but it has a brief nose of malt and sweet flowers. Some flowery and grainy flavors.

There is even a touch of a candy flavor that makes me think of a Tripel. The bitterness, however, sweeps all before it. Long bitter aftertaste. There are some brief pleasures here but it's not very drinkable for me; hard core bitterness addicts may find it satisfying. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Had this at Parkway tavern in Tacoma. Deep gold in color. Nice white head that sustains for some time. Floral and citrus notes on the nose. Very well balanced I.P.A. Mild sweetness with a nice hop presence. Dry body with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

On tap at the Parkway Tavern.

The beer pours an orange amber color with fairly good head retention and light lacing. Don't get a whole lot on the nose, just some light citrus. On the palate, this beer was considerably more impressive and is NorthWest al the way stylistically. The IPA is quite dry and bitter, with just enough malt to balance the hoppy bitterness in this beer. I also pick up some light underlying brown sugar, which adds an interesting note to the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is at most medium bodied, with a moderatley long, clean, bitter finish. Drinkability was pretty good... would have to guess the abv. to be in the 6% range.

A nice, solid, easy to enjoy/appreciate IPA.

A: Cloudy straw coloured liquid with next to no head.

S: Floral hops.

T: Bitter hops and grapefruit.

M: Medium thickness but no carbonation. This may have just been due to the age of the cask, however.

O: A decent IPA but doesn't particularly stand out among the sea of others.

Picked up at Bottleworks over Memorial Day weekend. Poured into imperial pint glass.

A - Deep golden-yellow with a foamy off-white head. Head is about two fingers after gentle pour and has excellent retention. Spotty lacing left behind on the glass. Beer is slightly hazed and moederate carbonation activity in the glass.

S - Big fruity hop aromas, primarily citrus notes but a bit of tropical fruitiness mixed in as well. Grapefruit and mango both come to mind. Orange comes through as well. After the beer warms a bit the citrus notes remain prominant but some floral aromas begin to come through as well. All hops in the nose.

T - Straight hop bitterness. A bit one dimensional with the citrus, tropical and floral notes not really coming through in the taste. A faint sweetness comes in late in the drink but is certainly overwhelmed by the bitterness.

M - Light to medium bodied with a long lingering bitterness. Carbonation is rather lively.

O - What appeared and smelled like a great IPA didnt quite come through on the taste. I dont mind the bitterness at all, I would just like a bit of hop taste to go along with it. Certainly not a bad beer, but a bit disapointing

A. Golden orange light head but not much.

S. Not much... a little citrus.

T. Nice hops, citrus and a caramel / candy corn after taste.

M. Pretty clean with a little chalkiness.

D. Good. Noticeable alcohol but not to overshadow the refreshing flavor.

Orange and amber pour, haze, average head. Aroma was bitter pine.

Taste, a solid ipa, everything you expect, warming alcohol, good alternations between pine and citrus in the hop mouthfeel, ample bitterness, solid malt body that never comes across heavy or woody (unintentionally). At times some more tropical flavor will leak in.

Thought it finished very dry. Thought it didn't do anything outstanding, but was good in every area. A very workmanlike ipa.

Thanks to Alastar for this one by way of IS BIF 2. Poured from a 22oz. bomber into a Sam Adams perfect pint.

A: Gentle pour yields a .5 finger coarse, white head that dissipates quickly. Beer is one of the palest looking IPAs I've ever seen. A semi-clear white peach. Lacing is stringy and spotty in parts with little cling.

S: Aroma is of clean citrus and piney hops with just the slightest touch of cane sugar. Very crisp and simple all-around.

T: Piney and resiny hops are upfront from the very beginning, lending a sharp and lasting bitterness. Very little malt character to be found but there is a slight citrus at the back. Finish is astringent and bitter with an enamel-peeling raw hop kick in the aftertaste that sticks around.

M: Light bodied and well carbonated. Lively in the mouth with a slight stickiness towards the end. Finish is messy with an aftertaste that lingers long after the brew.

D: This offering is very average. Appearance is a bit off, aroma is simple and crisp, taste is pretty spot on though lacking a little balance, and feel is appropriate. However, there are a good number of above-average IPAs around so this is my first and last go-around with this one.

Poured a dark gold with a finger of fluffy white head. Standard IPA aromas of citrus, caramel, and pine.

Moderate carbonation and a relatively full mouthfeel with flavors of grapefruit, caramel, and a mild hoppy bitterness on the finish. All the IPA style elements were solid and the brew was pleasant and easy-drinking, if a bit generic.

On tap served in a pint glass at Roanoak Tavern, Mercer Island.

A - Hazy orange tinted gold with minimal off-whit head, dissapates fairly quickly. Some fine grained sticky lace hanging around. Not gorgeous, but ok.

S - Fairly bright with floral and herbal notes. Decent grainy background. Enticing enough and pleasant.

T - Pine and bitter herbs with musk rose. Really nice hop bite. Biscuity malt backbone is present.

M - Medium-light feel, ample carbonation.

D - This is a solid brew and quite enjoyable. Recommended.

Poured into a nice pint glass. Light head on top, lines the glass nicely though. Nice aromatic nose. Maybe some caramels coming though with waft of hops, hops, and more hops.
Nice flavor, not overwhelming hops, very easy and smooth. Nothing over bearing. Great on a summer day, I enjoyed while mowing the lawn, it was a great pair.
Good overall, very easy to throw back.

22oz bottle.

Pours hazy gold with a half inch head of white. Traces of dotted lacing and a partial skim coat on the surface for the duration.

Aromatics have a fairly subtle notion of hops with biscuity malt. Very subdued for the style. Hints of grapefruit, butterscotch, cut grass, and toasted grains.

Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel.

Husky malt and a firm bitterness start the palate. Grapefruit, pine, and earthy hops follow through. A hint of honey underneath.

Finishes crisp and drying with a decent bitterness, citric bite, and a trace of warmth.

Another lackluster PacNW of late. Hopefully things will turn around soon. Tasty enough, but quite mediocre for the style and certainly for the PacNW. Needs way more hops all around, but the nose in particular is very lacking.

A - Not much head at all, what was there dissipated pretty quickly leaving a small island of large bubbles. A hazy orange color.

S - sweet citrus fruits, some pine, a little alcohol aroma as well.

T - A bitter hop taste that hits mostly in the back and sides of the tongue. It's pretty dry and not too sweet or malty so the hops do stand out. Although it is sort of one dimensional in terms of the hop flavors.

M - Dry finish with mild carbonation. Quite nice actually.

D - It tastes as though its a lower ABV drink and if you want a crisp and dry IPA this is a decent choice. It doesn't hit you over the head with hops or sweetness or malts. Goes down pretty smooth and is refreshing.

22oz bottle received in trade with olympuszymurgus - Thanks! Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

A - Pours a very pale golden color with a slight haze. A finger of gleaming white head sits atop this IPA and lingers for a while with no sign of wanting to die at all. Paler than most IPA's but still a pretty good looking beer.

S - Fruity with a bit of citrus...grapefruit mostly, although a bit on the dull side - not really crisp or sharp. Also a bit of grassiness in the aroma too. Malt has a presence taking on some bready and grainy characteristics.

T - Quite bitter up front. Hops don't offer much flavor...what is there is a bit grapefruity and somewhat earthy. Graininess and breadlike flavors from the malt balance out the bitterness nicely. Wish there was more hop flavor to go with the bitterness.

M - Mouthfeel is thin overall and carbonation level is medium and just about right for the style. Nothing special of note here either positive or negative.

D - Alcohol level is not stated on the bottle anywhere, but it does not feel like it is very high. No alcohol noticeable in the flavor either. Sessionable IPA...enjoyable with a pizza for lunch sorta beer. I like this beer, but wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. Happy to have the chance to try it.

hooo-ly crap. on smelling out of the bottle, the nose is outstanding.

thin white frothy head, excellent retention that really sticks to the glass and falls slowly. cloudy orangey-gold body.

the smell, like i mentioned to begin with is incredible. pineapple-mango goodness. sweet. no bitterness whatsoever. just impeccable.

slightly hoppy on the back of the tongue. very floral and filling in that respect. no tropical fruits in the taste as one would expect from the smell. a little disappointing as the smell was really building up expectation.

mouthfeel is a powdery dryness, spiciness provides a light mustardy feel, but overall pretty alright*

the floral taste comes on a bit too much and isnt helped by the dryness, i was really hoping for the pineapple and mango to come through in the taste and provide a refreshing juiciness, but must say am a bit underwhelmed. at the least, it smelled outstanding. still drinkable by any stretch of the imagination.

Served in straight pint glass. poured a hazy/cloudy orangeish amber color. An inch of fluffy, white head had good retention but left solid lacing.

Muted hop aromas, mostly floral and pine, are featured on the nose. The flavors are slightly sharper than the aromas led me to expect, with some citrus on the tongue that I hadn't noticed in the aromas.

Typical body and drinkability for the style. Overall a good, solid IPA, worth trying if you see it.

Thanks to EehaiCJ for sharing this, review from notes.

Herbal, grassy hop aroma, floral with a touch of lavender or something like perfume. Dull hazy peach color, spotty lacing, with a spiderweb skim and nest of larger bubbles clinging to one side. Some cracker or puffed wheat cereal notes, grassy hop flavor, with a lightly bitter aftertaste. It had a soft feel, more mellow than expected for a west coast IPA. Overall it was sort of ho hum, and was blown away by the bottle of 6/10/09 Pliny that followed it.

Appearance: Pours a hazy apricot/peach color with a fluffy white head that leaves much remembrance of its presence

Smell: Floral citrus aroma

Taste: Fruity citrus up front, with a juicy character that emerges by mid-palate; after the swallow, there is a light bready character; the finish brings on more of the same

Mouthfeel: Medium body with spritzy carbonation

Drinkability: A nice refreshing West Coast IPA; certainly not among the biggest or boldest by those high standards, but easy to drink indeed

Thanks to tthomas for tossing this into a recent trade. Served in my Surly pint glass.

A - Two fingers of off-white foam that has solid retention and lots of swathes of lacing. Slightly hazed straw yellow color with the occasional bubble.

S - Some sweet citrus (orange, tangerine), grassy, piny - pretty potent. Nice hint of carmael maltiness in the background. It's very fresh smelling and quite delicious.

T - Taste is surprisingly dull. There's a some nice initial citrus sweetness, a touch of floralness, and a hint of residual bitterness but it's just kind of bland. I can't even call it an English IPA, because the malt presence is also subdued. Not bad, just meh...

M - Dry finish, but also a fair bit of residual oily resin. Medium body, creamy, with mild carbonation. Quite nice actually.

D - Even though the ABV is listed you can tell this is on the lower end of the IPA scale. Mild bitterness and carbonation keep it quite easy to imbibe. The taste is just really underwhelming and I can't see myself wanting to bother with this one...

Sampled from a 22oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Seattle.

A - Golden with a strong haze and small off white head. Good lacing.

S - Floral and fruity with a lemony aroma that kind of took me by surprise.

T - Starts fruity and floral but then yields a nice citrusy bitterness. I like the flavor a lot more than the aroma.

M - Moderate consistency and carbonation.

D - Very flavorful and easy to drink. This would be a nice regular for me if I lived in the area. And at $3.49 for a 22oz bottle, the price isn't too bad.

Another of the beers I brought back from the great northwest.

Poured from the bomber with a finger of creamy head. Faded quickly, but started depositing lacing everywhere. Honey/Golden amber with perfect clarity. No visible carbonation.

Aroma was subdued but really nice. Slight fruits and just a touch floral. A little sharp at the end, like the grapefruit bitterness. Maybe pine.

Flavor is really smooth and incredibly balanced. Very bread/cracker like on flavor up front. Then it moves to a moment of fruit sweet and onto the hop bitter ending. Not too much, in fact, quite mild. But nice. More pine like at the end.

Carbonation is quite mild and this leaves a silky smooth taste/feel in your mouth.

Really quite drinkable. I think I might like this best of all the Northwest IPA's I've tried. (not including Deschutes Hop Trip!!)

Really nice IPA.... I wish I had another bomber of this one.

Bomber into an impy pint, Hop Diggidy is a hazy golden blonde with a large, frothy off-white head that leaves heavy lace. I like the lighter colored IPAs.

Smell is fruity and floral, bubblegum and wildflowers, a nice herbal mintiness. Softer, but complex and very appetizing.

Taste is nice and fresh, full of hop flavor, sweet but not cloying, not too bitter with a nice cereal backbone. Really a nice IPA, big flavor without being to aggressive, each sip begets another until the bomber disappears in a hurry. The fruitiness was really nice, great IPA.

Mouthfeel is oily, dry and medium bodied. I appreciate that it's fuller in the mouth then the stomach.

Drinkability is good, this goes down really easily, my kinda of IPA for sure. A good value too, wish I didn't have to go to WA to get these. Wish my fridge was full of them tonight!
