Served from 22oz bomber
A — Pours a deep and dark brown in color, there are some reddish hues and edges as it is held up to the light. There is a light brown colored head that fades pretty quickly. Fair enough lacing, but not great.
S — Smells of lightly roasted dark malts, sweet and rich. Little bit of bitterness.
T — Tastes more like a brown ale than an amber, fairly light in flavor, little bit of roastiness and bitterness, but not much.
M — Medium bodied, ample carbonation. Not bad.
O — OK overall, fairly light for a porter, could use a greater depth of flavor.

Pours a dark cola brown. some ruby/mahogany around the edges. Good little khaki head. Dissipates pretty quickly.
Nose starts out sweet and roasty. Turns extremely grainy as it warms.
That sweet roasty theme starts the tongue off as well. Hard to pinpoint specific flavours, but it's warmingly roasted giving way to a touch of bitter towards the end. I get faint cocoa sweet notes that blend nicely with a touch of bakers cocoa as well and maybe a hint of lactose sweet/sour. A touch nutty.
Decent medium body and appropriate carbonation. This isn't a beer that's going to stand out or garner mentions on best-of lists, but it is an extremely drinkable, enjoyably solid example of a style that sometimes gets overshadowed by its more pronounced russian/imperial kin. Definitely recommend giving it a shot at the very least.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.
Appearance: nice black body with a finger of dark tan foam head. Body allows a dim but clear transit of ruby when held up to the light. I like it.
Smell: lots of chocolate and earthy, vegetabley hops. It smells like a typical Northwest porter.
Taste: quite tasty. Flavor begins with the chocolate notes and finishes with a nice coffee flavor. Hops are present throughout but really fill out toward the end; there's a nice bitterness here. Overall, I am liking this quite a bit.
Mouthfeel: medium-thin body with a nice level of carbonation. I feel like this could be creamier with just a tad thicker body; still, it's not too bad.
Drinkability: this is a solidly crafted, tasty, and quite drinkable porter. ABV is a tad bit on the high side for a true session beer, but I could definitely down a few of these at the pub.

Served in a straight pint glass at the Green Frog Cafe in Bellingham, WA. Poured a very deep brown, almost black, with a hint of ruby tinge. Less than an inch of medium tan head dissipated quickly, leaving moderate lacing.
A very pleasant roasty malt aroma greets the nose with a slight sweet note. For a beer with this amount of roast in the nose there is no discernable coffee aromas, which I find a pleasant surprise. The flavors follow the aromas but are more fulfilling.
The body is full and satisfying, a true pleasure. A very drinkable beer, a solid companion.

bottle by way of riversideAK.
the auburn brown pour appears to be rather thin. it*s capped by a fleeting beige head which i had to really work for.
there is a definite milky sourness from the roast along with coffee, faint vanilla and dry generic hoppiness.
the flavor is rather boring... earth, herbal dryness, coffee, mild vanilla, toasted caramel-y nuts and some floral iced tea-like hoppiness on the finish. there*s a mild sourness throughout the palate. the body is light to light/medium with a sharp mouth feel. it is however, easy to drink.
very simple brew... almost like there was no effort put into it. but, it is certainly not terrible.

purchased at albertsons in bremerton, washington.
pours black with a red tint, a small khaki head that dissipates quickly, fine lacing.
smell is roasted malt and nuts, cocoa, and a touch of coffee, touch of vanilla.
taste is a bit on the watery side, roasted malts, chocolate flavored italian ice, and not too bitter, touch of coffee, some vanilla.

I bought some Port Townsend Porter a few months ago while vacationing on the Olympic Peninsula. Poured in to a pint glass.
Pours a dark nearly black color, with a deep garnet red hue when held up to the light. Modest bubbly tan head is not particularly resilient, and yields little lace.
The smell is not real robust, there is a sweet plum aroma, with a mild roasted grain smell.
Taste is OK, but not flavor packed. There is a little smoky coffee flavor, with a caramel malt and grain presence. Very little bitterness in the flavor.
Mouthfeel is light and clean, perhaps a bit thin and watery. The brew is well carbonated, and feels a bit like a Coke on the swallow.
A very drinkable porter, but not a remarkable one. It's sessionable, not overpowering, not heavy. A good run of the mill porter. I'd have it again, but there are many others that are as good if not better.
