This is a dive bar/burger joint. It has been on all the food network and travel channel shows, and is somewhat of an institution in the area. A dark and dank pub area in the front with a pool room in the back, and a patio outside. All fine and dandy for a dive. The carpet looks like it is 30 years old and smells of mold. Anyway, on to the important stuff.

The burgers are really good. Lots of toppings to mix and match. I had blue cheese crumbles and sautéed mushrooms. My folks split a burger with avocado, white cheddar, and a fired egg. My Aunt had the green chile. All was good, and recommended. Maybe not as good as the hype, but still very enjoyable.

The service is nice and friendly, and somewhat knowledgeable. Though slow as molasses.

The beer selection has some above average options, but really nothing out of the ordinary. Most the stuff I can find at my average beer bar in Houston. Avery and Oskar Blues as the big sellers. Along with Wynkoop as the highlight for me. The rest is pretty much BMC or their imported ilk. I wish they had some Odells like the brewwania signage advertizes. Oh well.

Overall, a nice place for a burger and beer. Expect to wait a LONG time for anything with a somewhat passable selection. You can't go wrong with the burgers, but nothing I have not had in a hundred different places across the country. I still did enjoy it, just don't go out of your way.

A great place for a burger and a beer. Casual, to the bones, divey and out of place in the upscale Cherry Creek neighborhood. If you didn't know about the place prior to going you might walk in and walk out after a quick look through. But that's also part of the charm. Really good burgers with standard bar food appetizers. Its about the burgers through and through. A large selection of beers to choose from, though the selection consists solely of your standard fare that you can find at any bottle shop. Its about quantity of selection, not uniqueness of the offerings. Service isn't anything special, not terrible not great. Price fairly.

On business in Denver, my co-worker really talked this place up. From the name Cherry Cricket, I was worried that this was a pseudo-British pub type place; you know the ones that have overly whimsical names like “The Whittling Fig Pub” or something.

Luckily, it wasn’t. It’s named after the upscale Cherry Creek section of town. It was a basic pub, with nothing much to recommend in terms of ambiance or decor.

My co-worker implored me, “You’ve GOT to try this place! The burgers are AWESOME!”

They weren’t. They were pre-formed and and served on a slightly soggy standard-issue bun.

“They have a really great draft selection,” he continued.
Not that great, actually.

To be fair, they did have several good draft options available (Breckenridge, Tommyknocker, Avery, and others) but there were too few interesting choices, especially considering that this is Freakin’ DENVER after all, and there are plenty of better beer bars within a few minutes of the Cherry Cricket.

The burger was weak, and the loud crappy 80’s music from Music Choice was pretty annoying. A red velvet cake desert was stale, and may have been tasty otherwise. Too bad.

On the plus side, the green chili was pretty great, there was a fairly large bottle list, and the service was particularly great-cheerful, attentive and accommodating.

Again, it wasn’t a bad experience per se; the food was OK and there were enjoyable beers available. But these factors alone are not enough to live up to the hype. Meh.

Considering the far superior food and beer options available in Denver, I won’t go back.

Visited on my recent trip to Denver with the wife. We stopped in here for lunch after a visit to the Denver Zoo.

I would say this is less of a beer spot than a pub that happens to have some good beers. Most of the people I saw were there for the food and not really a lot of beers being poured. The atmosphere was kind of a run down hole in the wall feel with pretty average service.

The beer selection and the burgers were good. The quality of everything was also good.

I was able to try an Odell 90 Schilling and it went very well with my burger with smoked cheddar, grilled mushrooms, and grilled onions.

The prices are a bit much for the food as each topping on your burger is an extra charge. The beer prices also seemed a bit high.

Overall, this is a pretty good place but the atmosphere and service leave something to be desired.

This is more of a unique food place than a straight up beer geek bar, but has a great selection of bottles and drafts of Colorado beer and a few others distributed in the state. The wings and burgers are excellent and overall a nice place to hit if you're with people who aren't necessarily beer geeks. When I was there they had Great Divide Hercules and Yeti on draft, and a other brews from Avery and Boulder. Quite a few TVs to catch sports on and the place was packed on the weekenight I was there.

This is a really good burger joint with a nice selection of your regular bar food. Before checking it out, I did hear from a few people that it was a little pricey, but in my opinion, for a high-end burger joint with a craft selection in a trendy neighborhood, the prices are fine. You have to take everything into consideration, but that's just me.

I enjoyed the food. I got a cheddar burger. Really good. The service always seems to be consistantly good, despite it being a very busy place most of the tome it is open. They know how to handle a crowd.

As far as the beer, while they do have a nice representation of Colorado beers and even a few from Wynkoop (really excited to see that), I think they should ditch some of the macro swill that they have and bring in a little more craft and import, just to solidify the selection.

I would definitely recommend this place. Good food. Decent beer menu, and it's located in the heart of a woman's afternoon spending area. So the next time you wanna go, just suggest to take her shopping in Cherry Creek. You come off looking like a great guy and you get your beer fix. Win win.

I go here every time I visit my brother in Denver. It's tradition for me now, and there's a reason for it.

Sure- it always seems to be super-crowded EVERY TIME I visit these days, but it is worth it. The food is amazing: namely the wings & burgers. Plus, they always have a great selection on tap. They have a beer special if you want to save a few bucks, but for me I'm always interested in trying out the local brews around Colorado. Service has always been above par, but with the long waiting times in past years I can see how some may get frustrated.

I think the prices are reasonable. Cherry Creek is apparently a pricey part of town, and I don't think it's too far out of the norm for beer or food prices in Center City Philadelphia.

Visit this place if you get the chance!!!

I decided to go here to celebrate the end of the semester and have a nice lunch.

The place is rather large and the hostess was nice enough to show me all the way to the back of the restaurant but I ended up sitting at the bar near the front.

The Cherry Cricket is located in a rather swanky part of Denver with upscale shopping and expensive real estate. The establishment itself is humble and quaint.

It's crowded and noisy on a Wednesday lunch hour. Service is quick and friendly. They have a nice selection of beers on tap but they're all predictible local crafts.

The food was tasty but way over-priced. I ordered a Cricket burger with bacon and white cheddar ($9) and the frings (fries and onion rings) were $4.50. The beer was $4 so the lunch came to over $20 with tax. Ouch.

Other than price it was a nice place to have lunch. I would still recommend it but it's not a good value.

This place was high on the to-visit list in Denver not only because of the beers, but also due to being featured on Man Vs Food. The restaurant/bar is located in the "Cherry Creek" area southeast of the city. It is on 2nd avenue and there is street and garage parking nearby. It is also a short walk to the mall.

The place was absolutely packed at 3pm on a Sunday. There are a few patio seats, and immediately inside the bar is on the left and there are tables opposite. There are also adjacent rooms with additional seating. The bar has a chalkboard listing all the beers, as does the other dining room. There are TVs around which lend to the cozy sports bar atmosphere.

The beer list is pretty good. On draught there are around 15 brews from Odells, Great Divide, Wynkoop, Sierra Nevada and others. As for bottles there is a variety of regional microbrews from New Belgium, Stone, Boulder etc. A few imports are available too.

Service was good despite how busy they were. Our server wasn't a beer expert by any stretch but he was friendly and checked in on us frequently (but not too frequently).

The Cricket Burgers we had were excellent, and as a bonus were on special on Sunday. Definitely top notch and worth the cab ride from downtown alone.

All in all this place has earned it's toursity-type status as a place to check out in Denver.

Very cool place near a trendy and spendy part of Denver. Food was really top notch bar food, burgers were great. On the beer side of things, they had a bunch of interesting stuff next to the boring macros. Great Divide Titan, an excellent DIPA and Odells #5, a perfectly acceptable pale ale were the two I sampled. I saw Stone IPA, which is never a bad thing, and a few others I would have been interested in had I not been there for business reasons. There are certainly places with better selections out there, but the prices were great, the food ruled, and you can do a lot worse for beer. Good place.
