St. Erik's IPA...on tap at Glenfiddich Warehouse in Stockholm, Sweden.

Appearance-a dark orange almost red, a one finger head that nonetheless stays stuck in the glass long after the carbonation dies down.

Smell-roasted malt mixed with a sweet hop, less piney than most but still pungent, a little caramel along with alcohol fumes.

Taste/Mouthfeel-hoppy and bitter upfront, almost too rash, slower sips reveal some fruit, a nice balance of malt on the back end, caramel breadyness and more hops on the back end, medium mouthfeel. Heavy flavors here.

Overall-an IPA that stands up to its American counterparts. Not earth shattering but will certainly go well with a meat-heavy meal.

The beer is slightly hazy a brown, nearly dull, amber tone, the head is off-white, settles slowly and leaves lots of lacing.

The smell is freshly citric, lime with a dash of grape-fruit, grapes and pine needles as well.

Some upfront light sweetness, like dextrose, a mixed grape-fruit juice is dominating and is finished bye bitter grape-fruit peel and seeds.

Medium carbonation, rather simple and watery but refreshing.

A bit light for an american IPA, should probably have more body and ABV.

The colour is medium dark gold - brown. The two finger head is compact and off-white. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is a bit bitter and hoppy in a very British way: Dried apricots, hay, some fresh grass and a medium strong distinct bitterness. Semi-sweet notes of rye bread in the background.

The taste is at first mostly bitter. Then, dried fruits (apricots, passion fruits?) and a touch of lemon peels, tea, banana peels and a hint of nuts. The aftertaste is a little dusty with a medium strong bitterness, bitter-sour notes of lemon juice and bitter oranges plus some dough.

The carbonation is mild to medium, the bubbles small and fresh. The liquid is smooth.

The label says "American IPA", but my taste buds says a "a mix of the English IPA and American pale ale styles". Any way I think this is quite a quaffable beer.

Pours burnished orange with fleeing white foam that trails. Dried orange rind nose. Gooey caramel and candied orange up front, with Cointreau hops. Floral end, sticky aspirin linger. Medium, lots of chew and oil.

Hopped with Centennial and Amarillo.

Big and sticky but not complex. Good but not great.

Thanks to Chris for bringing this back from Stockholm.

Sampling this IPA well chilled and poured into a tulip glass.

A: Amberish dark-yellow/light-brown color, nice foamy head that stays for a while when poured into the glass. Looks like a nice clean one.

S: Fresh hoppy tones, leaning against a sweet almost piney/woody notes. The smell does not stay for that long though.

T: Nice and hoppy, both sweet and round taste at the beginning that leaves you with a great bitterness. It definitely got an American IPA touch, but since it got less alcohol than a lot of other American IPA's this one feels a lot lighter.

M: Pretty light and easy flowing, got great carbonation wich is nice to start with so you can enjoy it for a while.

O: A nice clean American IPA with the advantage of not being to alcoholic, that's good news cause you can definitely have a couple of these.

A: Pours reddish brown with a large tan head, rather thick. Dissipation is slow and leaves lots of lacings.

S: Caramell malt with lots of hoppyness: citric and piney notes.

T: Taste is like the smell; lots and lots of hops. The maltyness is kind of held back. More bitterness than in the smell.

M: Long bitter aftertaste. Body is a bit lighter than I would have guessed. Carbonation is medium.

D: Goes down rather smoothly, a bit too smooth for beeing a great AIPA.

Beautiful bronze color, bright, slightly veiled. A decent white foam.
In the smell fresh hop, green, not too strong. Good balance with the maltiness.
Light notes of tangerine and grassy hop.
Pleasant taste, hop anf d light maltiness, balanced.
Relatively short aftertaste, but still quite drinkable.
