12 oz bottle into a teku.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden color. The head is a finger high with a white shade. While the head has a nice froth, its retention isn't spectacular. Some lacing sticks to the glass. (3)
Smell: A citrusy smell pops foremost. Grapefruity hops are perfect for a white IPA, I must say. Hints of coriander and bread lie in the background. As a whole, though, the nose is not overly special - everything smells good, there just isn't enough of it to go around. (3)
Taste: Coriander seems to take a more significant role on the taste buds. It still plays second fiddle to the hop flavors, though. I seem to pick up a lot of grass (good), grapefruit (good), and orange rind (good, and doubly so considering that's not an adjunct in this beer). Some gentle notes of bread and candied sugar finish it off. Not bad at all, though a bit dull. (3.25)
Mouthfeel: It seems unusually full-bodied at first, but the finish dries everything up nicely. The feel is also pretty creamy and low in terms of carbonation. Like I said before, it seems naturally dry, so drinkability is rock-solid. (3.5)
Overall: This is pretty decent at 3 months old, so I imagine this would be really good at only a month or so. It just isn't very exciting right now, as nothing really seems to stick out in a good way. Worth a try, though, especially when fresh. (3.25)
3.2/5: Does what I expect from a white IPA...but not much else

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.
Appearance: Pours a golden straw with heavy carbonation and a big pillowy white head. Sticky lacing on the way down. It's hazy and has a yellowish glow.
Aroma: Spices, some yeasty funk, citrus, lemon, a bit of green grass or green leaves.
Taste: Follows the nose, with citrus and lemon leading the way. More wheat than was present in the nose. Dry. Crisp, refreshing. Well-hidden ABV.
Mouthfeel: Somewhat light of body. Not a flaw; it's a good spring/summer type beer.
Overall: One of my favorite offerings from Peak. A tasty, slightly fruit, dry IPA that I can picture having broad appeal. I noticed the "born on" date on this six pack is a little old; I imagine this is really terrific when it's very fresh.

A: Pours a hazy medium yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate amounts of straw yellow highlights. The beer has a two finger tall pillowy off-white head that slowly reduces to a very thick layer covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of citrus/lemon hops, Belgian yeast, and just a hint of coriander spice.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of pale malts and just a hint of wheat. That is followed by moderate flavors of Belgian yeast and coriander spice. Finally, there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavor of citrus/lemon juice, citrus/grapefruit zest, and light flavors of tropical/papaya hops which imparts a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp with light amounts of dryness.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a lighter than expected body/mouthfeel. Enjoyable and definitely worth grabbing.

Hop Blanc from Peak Organic Brewing Company - This pours a nice translucent golden with about a dimes worth of thick head that stayed around. Now with my first nose of this I thought they mistakenly put pineapple juice in the bottle along with some kiwi and citrus fruits. The flavour matched the nose, with some hoppiness coming out in the final stages. Admittedly I went online right away to see if this was a fruit beer. Nope White IPA, which I enjoy but rarely with such fruitiness. A tasty beer that I wouldn't mind having on a hot summer day after a match or two of beach volleyball
