Notes/Commercial Description:
Our Nut Brown Ale starts out very smooth, like an English-style Brown Ale. The use of Chocolate Malt, Munich Malt, and Hallartau Hops give this beer a crisp, nutty finish. Peak Nut Brown is a delectable beer loaded with complex, differentiated flavors that don’t overwhelm the palate, making it a perfect dark beer for food pairing.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine April 2007.

The outdoor beer-drinking theme works for organic beers, we guess. They even use organic specialty malts and hops in this beer.

A healthy decanting draws three fingers of bubbly, off-white head; a good amount of clinging action from the lace leaves some rings on the glass. Deep, chestnut brown color displays a satisfactory clarity. Soft blanketing of toasted maltiness, followed by a caramel note in the clean aroma. Moderate body with a delicate smoothness that is quick to disap- pear. A touch grainy and wet up front, the malt base seems just a little watery, with toasted and caramel flavors throughout. Dry middle to end, with a citric, herbal hop flavor which hands off a slightly prudent bitterness. Finishes with more toasted malt, and a kiss from the hops.

Certainly passable; easy to drink and, without a doubt, an easy session beer. But there's no wow here, nothing to set it apart from other Brown Ales, besides the fact that it's organic. Pair this one with a nutty Canadian cheddar on herbed water crackers, or baste a free range chicken and root vegetables.

12 oz brown twist off bottle with a freshness date.

A- Nice rocky head that settles down to a sticky lace. Deep mahogany brown color ... good clarity.

S- Nutty toasted malt, slight burnt sugar and a faint fruitiness.

T&M- Smooth and crisp with a moderate body. Dark malt flavors of brown bread and chicory, mild hoppiness hint of fruitiness ... slight raisiny flavor. Nutty toasted grain, hint of dark sugar sweetness as well. Finishes semi-sweet.

D- An all around good brown ale, tasty enough to go back to again ... but I don't really care about the whole organic thing when it comes to beer. Malt, water, hops, yeast ... simple as that.

Best Enjoyed Before July 2014

A: Pours a mahogany color with a fingers worth of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: A nice, nutty maltiness is the stand out, with a hint of sweetness and some caramel

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a good dose of maltiness, which provides some caramel, chocolate, and nutty notes. Lightly sweet. Finishes with a hint of bitterness and house yeast

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth

O: An easy-drinking English brown with a nice signature nuttiness. Good for a small session
