Notes & Commercial Description:

This unique India Pale Ale features our favorite hops—Simcoe, Amarillo and Nugget. A generous Amarillo and Simcoe dry hop provide for an assertive, hop-forward nose and front palate. We don’t use traditional bittering hops in our IPA, providing nothing but stimulating citrus and floral characteristics.

Inspired by a recipe from our good friend and fellow homebrewer Tim from the North Shore Homebrewers Club.

Appearance: It's a hazy honey-orangish looking beer, thinly foamed at the top.

Smell: It has a mild citrus-like aroma.

Taste: It has a nice combination of bitterness and fruitiness, slightly mixed with malt.

Mouthfeel: It feels like a medium-bodied beer, moderately carbonated while also smooth.

Drinkability: Its a fairly delicious beer, easy to drink with or without food, and having a decent after-taste.

Overall: I'd say it's a quality IPA.

Poured into a pint glass. The color is hazy straw. There is a small head but it doesn't last long.

The aroma delivers grassy pine; maybe a hint of onion.

The taste has a nice dose of bitter pine in the start and middle. This drinks quite dry. The finish has some bready yeast flavor that I can't help but associate with Shipyard. Overall, I wouldn't complain about the taste when fresh.

This is quite drinkable; one I'll certainly get again when I know it's fresh (as this one is).

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY and dry hopped at the bar with whole Simcoe hops.

Poured a deep brass hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured mostly floral hops with a dry caramel.

The taste consisted of clean malts and a dry gloral/herbal hop. A pleasant streamlined taste.

The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style and surprising considering the ABV.

Overall a very tasty and well balanced ale.
