The beer pours a deep amber/red color with a thick frothy off-white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is great! It has a rich crystal and roasted malt scent along with a very nice hop aroma. It's warm and malty with plenty of citrus hop appeal. The taste is good. It has a rich, malty flavor that's sweet with caramel malts yet bitter as hell with lots of citrus hops. There is a touch of toasted malt character that lends itself to a dry, roasted finish. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a terrific red ale. It's complex in both the malt and hop makeup.

Poor this beer out of a 1 pint 6 ounce bottle into a tall tasting glass

Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue body and a slightly tan head

Smells very rich in American hops

The taste is quite hoppy and of alcohol

Medium mouth feel

In and of itself this isn't a bad beer however I don't really get the red ale designation on the bottle. It doesn't seem to have a very strong malt profile. Not a bad beer though

I bought this beer simply because it shares a name with my favorite band. That being said, decent beer overall. Since I have to fill out space, here are the lyrics to a King Crimson song -

Talk, it's only talk
Arguments, agreements, advice, answers,
Articulate announcements
It's only talk

Talk, it's only talk
Babble, burble, banter, bicker bicker bicker
Brouhaha, boulderdash, ballyhoo
It's only talk
Back talk

Talk talk talk, it's only talk
Comments, cliches, commentary, controversy
Chatter, chit-chat, chit-chat, chit-chat,
Conversation, contradiction, criticism
It's only talk
Cheap talk

Talk, talk, it's only talk
Debates, discussions
These are words with a D this time
Dialogue, dualogue, diatribe,
Dissention, declamation
Double talk, double talk

Talk, talk, it's all talk
Too much talk
Small talk
Talk that trash
Expressions, editorials, expugnations, exclamations, enfadulations
It's all talk
Elephant talk, elephant talk, elephant talk

32 ounce growler filled at the Filling Station, NYC, NY

Darker amber, with a ruddy reddish glow. Lighter mocha head. Stays nicely. Leaves thicker high fields, strands and bits of lacing.

Nutty nose, with some sweet malts, and milk chocolate.

Tasty and pleasing. Strong and pretty flavorful. Notes of chocolate cake, milk chocolate, dark fruity goodness, more nutty malts. Easy drinking with the 9+% well hidden. Drying hops in the finish. Well done and well worth a try.

22 oz bomber pours a hazed crimson (imagine that) color with a tight tan head. Nice retention and lacing.

Nose is sweet toffee, light hop oil - very resinous and loads of alcohol.

Taste shows alot of the same resinous characteristics from the nose and the malts are firm, staying away from the sweet end of the spectrum. I could use more flavoring hops to help offset the shredding bitterness and all the flavors dont seem to harmonize just right. Not bad, I enjoyed my half a bomber, but not something that will be memorable.

Poured from a bomber into a perfect pint glass 11/3

Pours dark brown with red tint at the bottom. Fizzy bubbly white foam. Some lacing. Bready malt nose. Light pine too. Taste opens with a toffee malt backed with a firm strong hop. Hearty. Really long lasting bitter. Toasty flavor.

10 oz pour on tap. It's a nice reddish amber color with a half inch head. The smell is caramel, butter, and toffee. I can't detect any hops, which is very disappointing for an "Imperial Red." The taste is similar to the smell, but even worse. So much caramel and toffee along with the bizarre buttery flavor that dominates the beer. This beer is FAR too malty. The mouthfeel is actually pretty spot on, but I had trouble finishing a 10 oz pour and I doubt I'll revisit a Peak Beer anytime soon (especially if this is their highest rated beer on here.)

Poured into large pint glass. Was reddish brown, clarity was pretty good. Was not much of a foamy head. What was there, was cloudy white. Did not get much hops, but a very strong malt smell. Reminded me of a barleywine with its strong dark fruit and sugary smell. Body and mouthfeel is good, bit on an acidic taste.

The taste is good, with the malt dominant. It is good, but wasn't what I expected on a hot FL summer day. I would have probably really liked it on a cooler night.
