Style | ABV
American Pale Wheat Ale |  5.00% ABV

Availability: Summer

Notes/Commercial Description:
A traditional summer wheat beer marries a West Coast pale ale. Locally grown wheat provides a complex mouthfeel and Amarillo dry hopping gives a citrusy aroma.

12 oz. bottle poured into a glass.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a thin white head and heavy carbonation.

Aroma: Smells of wheat, lemon, citrus, and some minimal hops.

Taste: Taste follows the nose, with lemon leading the way.

Mouthfeel: It's a little thin, but then, it is a summer beer.

Overall: Breweries just love to crank out these wheat beers in the summer. It's a nice entry, though it doesn't separate itself from the pack much, other than the organic tag. I had it with pizza and salad. I would have it with pizza and salad again, probably.

a: Cloudy pale straw color; poured with a small fizzy head.

s: Nice hop nose, some grapefruit rind and resin. Sweet wheat and sugar cookie malts for balance.

t: Short lived wheaty grains before a fairly flavorful hop finish. A bit of pithy citrus and aspirin bitterness.

m: Fizzy and wet.

o: One of the better hoppy wheats I've tried.

12 oz bottle was poured into a mug at Estelle's.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that for the most part is still there. It is a hazy pale yellow yellow with vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Floral, lemon, bready wheat, and pale malts.

Taste: Nice lemony tart hop characteristics, citrus, pale sweetness, and chewy wheat malts. Some bitterness in 5 he rear too.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, refreshing, light bodied, tingly bitterness, and low to medium carbonation.

Overall: Pretty solid summer brew. I'll revisit this one again in the near future.
