American Dark Wheat Ale |  5.00% ABV

Availability: Winter

Notes/Commercial Description:
This winter wheat beer uses dark malting to provide subtle toasty notes. We then single-hop and dry-hop this beer with Citra hops from our friend Brad’s farm. Interesting pineapple notes from the Citra hop provide a stark contrast to the toasty notes in the body. An engaging and sessionable Winter Seasonal.

Pours a three finger thick, off-white head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Nice crystal clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is light grapefruit hops, flavor is same with the grapefruit hops up front, malts are in background. Lingering bitter aftertaste. $2.25 for a 12oz bottle from Julio's Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Pours a medium clear brown with a decent white head. Good lacing.

Some fairly good citric hop notes and some nutty toasted grain, or whole-wheat toast.

Slight hop bite, some dark toasted whole grain bread, a bit watery in the flavor, but enough grain to pull through. Some light bitterness and husk. Not bad at all. Decent balance.

Lighter bodied, appropriate carbonation.

Decent with my meal for sure. Easy drinking, not filling or overdone. The watery edge to this is a little off-putting, but overall a pleasant surprise.
