American Pale Ale (APA) |  5.40% ABV

Availability: Spring

Notes/Commercial Description:
We love the piney, fruity flavors of Simcoe hops. This is a classic pale ale, single-hopped and dry-hopped with Simcoe. We cold condition this beer and give it a restrained malt profile, so the hops really pop, like flora in spring. Our friends Patrick, Jason and Brad grow these luscious hops and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

A: Bright Golden, Slightly hazy with a thin white head. light lacing.

S: Wonderful Simcoe Hop Aroma. Light Caramel Malts.

T: Very hop forward as far as flavor but Not overly bitter. Piney, Tangerine, grapefruit citrus rind. Very fresh tasting. caramel malts.

MF: fairly light and dry. moderately high carbonation. very crisp.

D: As a home brewer, I am a fan of the single hop beers because they showcase the hops and let you know what the hops have to offer. This Beer is all about the hop aroma and character IMO and doesn't focus on the malt side of the spectrum. Yet this ale is not too bitter. I think this is a good refreshing Pale Ale. Can't wait to try their other beers.

Pours hazy golden with good head. Nice aroma, and upfront taste, but bitterness lingers a bit too long and too astringent for my taste. Beautiful lacing on the glass as you drink. Pine, grapefruit and grass notes.

Would drink again, but not going out of my way for it.

I mean this is the perfectly average beer really. It has a good malt balance but not overly hoppy, but isn't drinking beer subjective? Someone may love the malt, while others may be put off by the hops. I myself enjoy the balance, would I order again, maybe? I like hoppier beers but this one is better than a lot but not as good as a lot of them either. It is what it its, but hey its organic so that should give it some points anyway.

Very malty. It has a grape base. Smooth and medium bodied. There's a hint of honey. Not much of a bite. The simcoe can be a bit too dominant. This is the kind of beer you need to have fresh, because once it turns it will taste just terrible.

It has a dark bronze color, basically opaque. Some bubbles rising up. A one-finger foamy white head with some lacing. A very nice caramel and simcoe scent.
