Weiss Principal is the international love child of a German Hefe-Weisse and an American Double IPA. This unfiltered wheat beer employs a traditional German Weiss yeast, providing engaging banana and clove flavors. A stern dry-hopping of a pungent American hops provides pronounced citrus, pine & fruit notes.

The colour is orange-yellow, the liquid clear (there is some yeast in the bottle). The finger thick off-white head sinks slowly leaving some lacing.

The smell got phenolic spices and fruity-bitter hop notes. Orange juice and a grand bitterness.

The taste is bitter and very citric (lemon-lime soda). Thick fat hop flavours and spice hefeweizen-yeast. The aftertaste is very bitter with notes of fruit candy.

The carbonation is strong and fresh. The liquid sticky and sweet.

Not a bad beer at all, but I rather enjoy a DIPA and a hefeweizen on their own.

Really not what I expected from a blend, smells god awful and the taste made me gag, with lots of chunky sediment (not comparable at all to yeast sediment)

This didn't sound good and I never would have bought this, but this was a gift so...

This was a cloudy straw colored yellow with big nasty chunks. It poured with a big sticky head.

This smells... odd. Pungent citrus clashes weirdly with the banana and clove of the hefe yeast. Taste is the same, with the addition of sharp, perfumed alcohol. This a loud, resounding "NO" for me. Yikes this was bad

A: Pours a lightly cloudy golden yellow color with 2 fingers of fluffy head that last for a good while

S: Some Belgian yeast that produces some fruitiness and spiciness, as well as some citrus and pine from the hops

T: Starts off with a bit of the yeast and a light alcohol kick. Spices and fruit come shortly after, along with some citrus and pine. Finishes with lingering bitterness and some clove notes

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: An interesting concept trying to make a hefe/DIPA blend, but it's not as balanced as it could/should be. Some of the yeasty aspects clash with the higher abv and hoppiness, making it a little rough around the edges. I applaud PO for the attempt, because beers like this are NOT easy to pull off

An ok beer. The one I had was on the bargain table at my beer store so it had some age on it. Can't go wrong with a 22 oz beer for 2 bucks!!!! Poured a hazy yellowish/amber color with a small white head and average retention. Left some lacing on the Weizen glass.

Aroma and flavor included a big yeasty presence and some peppery type spicing. Some bananas and cloves here to remind one of a hefeweizen. Not much in the way of wheat bitterness or lemony/citrus flavor. I got much more slightly fermented apples and pears (probably the result of the age of the bottle.) Hoppy bitterness kicks in about half way through a sip and it is fairly strong. Overall not bad but not really a Weizenbock or a hefe on steroids.

Still goes down pretty easy and an unusual combo of styles and flavors. I get to finish the other half of the bottle tonight.
