Mint Chocolate Stout is a dark, silky beer with aromas of chocolate and licorice. Smooth chocolate and coffee flavors upfront lead to a subtle spearmint finish. To fully enjoy all the flavors of this ale it is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

I saw a bottle of this and decided to pick it up for kicks and giggles, as it sounded like it would be worth at least giving a try.

There's really nothing to say here. It clearly says "Chocolate" on the label, but I don't taste much chocolate. It's like someone asked a person what they'd do for a York Peppermint Patty and they said "I'll brew a beer out of it!" and here we are.

The smell is pretty weak too. Reminds me of a tic-tac covered in chocolate residue.

This is not a good beer.

I wish I could give this a lower rating, one of the worst beers I've ever tasted

Good color. Smelled of mint and licorice. Could taste the mint chocolate and licorice. Unusual combo but interesting.(I like mint chocolate and licorice). If not a licorice fan this brew is not for you.

eyes...
some audible sizzle my nizzle, about one finger of slightly brown foam, lacing is nice as this settles and really coats the glass well, head retention is quite good - this thing is hanging out, nearly pitch black hue with streams of lazy bubbles just escaping gravity to travel to the frothy heavens, nicely done here

nose...
I might not have a world class honker but man this seems weak, faint andes candies... some faint cocoa

taste etc...
almost velvet smooth (the carbonation bites just a hitch), solid medium mouth feel, coats well, kind of like the nose I am thinking "where's the beef?", the alcohol is well hidden and only talks to you once inside your gullet, everything here is killing you softly... or mildly, the mint definitely kicks in at the end but it should be more like a book end than a dominator, Homer might say "need more chocolate" and I would tend to agree even if I haven't watched the Simpsons in a dog's age, this isn't bad it is just bland.

verdict ?
if you have high hopes curb your enthusiasm, this is a promise and not a delivery

and GET TO THE CHOPPER ! I don't know why I wrote that...
