Bought a bottle to try on my regular drinking day. Here goes:

A: OK, not good or bad. Beer pours a clear brown with almost no head or retention time. Very little lacing, indicating a poor protein content.

S: Just average for a pale ale. Lots of amber and slightly-roasted malts producing a mediocre caramel background. Interestingly, the beer has a rather bready smell reminiscent of baker's yeast. No hops apparent.

T: OK, rather follows the nose. A very bready taste complimented by an average caramel malt backbone. The presence of English hops is apparent in the aftertaste, but these are mostly masked by the bready yeast and caramel malt.

M: Good, like a regular English pale ale. Very light.

O: Not a bad pale ale, but I probably won't be acquiring it again. Caramel and amber malt complimented by English baker's yeast. Some hope presence, but not much.

Shipyard is a company with which I go back and forth. I love some of their offerings, but others are just plain "blah" (Pumpkinhead, anyone?). This one is a great ale though. Bought today at MB in Hudson, NH.

A- Bronze, very good amber hues, head receded quickly.

S- Fruity at first smell, then the malts kick in. No discernible hop notes.

T- Malty, crisp pear and apple notes, with darker bread notes (think a dark wheat bread) and a slightly bitter finish. Hops again are not noticeable until the aftertaste.

M-Clean and crisp, a bit too dry for my liking though.

O- Good stuff! If you are a fan of crisp pale ales this is a great beer. Very refreshing after a warm day full of household activities!

Amber color with a one finger head with short retention.
Light but predominant aroma of British hops and biscuit malts, not really sweet.
Flavor of earthy and perfumy English hops, sort of caramels, mild grapefruit citrusy, light cocoa, minerals, grass, musk and lemon peel. A hint of pines after it warms up a bit. Nice dry aftertaste with a long but without any pike bitterness.
Light body with good carbonation.
That is a tasty English Pale Ale, very English, if you like the style you will definitely like this. If not, stay away. I did like its dryness and non-sweet profile, forces you to compulsively want more.
