12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, golden, amber/copper color with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that dissolved into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Nice aromas of bready, toasted malt up front, imparting notes of freshly baked biscuits and wheat bread. I also get aromas of caramel, brown sugar, black pepper and a touch of grassy, clover and piney hops.

Taste: Very nice. Strong notes of toasted malt up front, imparting bready notes of whole-wheat crackers, pretzels and biscuits, followed by some nice caramel-like sweetness, some black pepper and coriander spices, and finished with some nicely balanced, piney, slightly bitter hops. Very good.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and pretty creamy, as there is practically no carbonation what-so-ever. With an ABV of 4.9%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: Very good beer, with good toasty, malty, slightly sweet, slightly bitter flavors. I’m very glad to see that a beer named for one of my favorite historical American heroes also tastes good. I’ll certainly get it again!

Didn't get the appearance since I drank for the bottle but carbonation was decent. Smells of mild if any English malts and hops not bad it doesn't seem to have hard water or skunk smell. Taste was pretty easy going to me it didn't have too much of a English malt profile with any tea taste or anything mostly biscuit and some earthy hops. Body was light I could drink it easy.

Overall it was a good pale ale worth picking up but not sure I would pay 2.50 for the single again.
