The head is a rich espresso foam, with big bubbles, standing tall and gradually settling to a solid blanket over a jet black mug. There are some legs, but no sunlight passing through the mug, even along the sides.
A sweet malty aroma wafts up, with distinct roasted bitterness and hidden tones of nuts.
Roasted malt starts the pallet a little sweet, with a light middle, and a bitter finish, very dry and burnt.
This has a very light feel, almost like water with fine carbonation. However, there is also a lingering syrupy feel on the lips.
Here we have an easy drinking offering, with low alcohol. Though not too complex, it is not boring either. There is no need to contemplate this one, so it makes for a decent session beer.
