Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee notes with light subtle bourbon notes. Taste is also dominated mostly by dry roasted malt notes with dry coffee notes with some bitter notes. Bourbon was hard to distinguish and did not play a significant role. Body is thinner then I had expected with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but more shy then I was expecting. (487 characters)

341ml Bottle received in trade with iguenard - different from the vanilla coffee version this is also listed on this site

Appearance - Dark brown colour with an above average size frothy light brown head. I can't make out the amount of carbonation showing and there is some great lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Malts, chocolate, coffee

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, chocolate, and light coffee. There is also a lot of burnt/charred flavour and a bit of a booziness. The charred bitterness hangs around for a long time on the taste buds.

Overall - The scent has a lot of quality chocolate in it, but that gets lost in the taste due to all the charred flavour. It is also missing a bit of the sweetness I'm used to finding in RIS's. The bourbon is noticeable - even more so as the beer warms. A decent brew but needs refining. (919 characters)
