A good wild assemblage, not the best. Very bretty and somewhat woody and the red flanders beer is most of all the character,, a bit aged. Still a good drinker in a multi course lunch.

A - Poured a bright hazy orange colour with a thin layer of bubbly white head.

S - Light brett funk, oak, grape must and a honey sweetness.

T/F - An interesting mix of light brett funk, sweet breadiness and oak with a light grape presence. Very effervescent - almost too much, as it detracts from the flavor.

More orange than red, but reddish tinged body, with lightly rocky bumpy white head. The lace clings thickly, though the head has but moderate retention. The nose is fruity, vinous, and musty, with some blackberries and just a trace of dust in the end. Tastewise this begins fruity and fairly sweet (without residual sugar) but just ever so briefly before a lengthier middle characterized by more vinous notes of grape must, while the finish lasts longest with a lightly woody mix with dried unsweetened fruit dryness that lingers, with a touch of warmth to the back of the throat. The body is medium and though there is a moderate carbonation as well, it plays second fiddle to the spreading dryness that cleanses the palate for a further sip. A solid 4.25 to 4.5

Poured from a 750ml bomber into a MoB teku glass.

Pours an almost clear, light amber color with a reddish hue with 2-3 fingers of white sudzy head falling slowly to a creamy cap leaving some decent lacing. The nose has some tart fruit, citrus, pepper, a nice punch of funk, wood and a bit vinous. On the palate, there is light toasted malt, tart fruit, lemon, white pepper, grape skins; there is a nice amount of funk and some dry acidic notes (tannins from the wine barrels?). It has a medium body and the perfect amount of carbonation, keeping is round and full, but still light and refreshing. A really nicely balanced beer pairing a fruity, malty profile against oaky, vinous, Brett goodness.
