Had this on tap at the Hooverville in Seattle.

Appearance: thick cloudy tan; nice, but I expect something a bit lighter for a wit.

Smell: very nice citrus and wheat; there even seemed to be a little banana in there.

Taste: similar to aroma with a little bitterness at the end. Quite nice.

Mouthfeel: medium body with well-integrated carbonation that yielded a nice creaminess. Capital!

Drinkability: this is one of my favorite wits; I could drink it all night.

I have to try anything and everything Rogue.... especially since they are Oregon/WA, and are the sole name on my bottle collection....

- A very light straw yellow pale color.. rather clear... not much head... maybe just a dusting of fizz..

- Bready and yeasty saison-like scent... a little farmhouse funk with a touch of zest, and spice... some barley/grain... sweetness... and citrus zing.

- Rather clear for a wit! Wheat present... bittering hops subtle... earthy zing, spice... all blended very well... light, balanced... and very well done. Impressed,.

- Very light bodied, a little watering because they pack so much complex flavoring into a light pale of sorts.... but for me very overcarbonated.... the yeast strain I am sure is to blame.... and I am guessing the bottle I grabbed is somewhat old... which is ok... because this is one of those light beers that can be sat on for awhile.

- Impressed. A very good beer. Rogue claims artisan on ALL of their beers... but only a few actually live up to it. This is one of those. Buy it, and enjoy it!

Pours a hazy golden/orange color, not much head, barely any lacing on the glass. Smells like cloves, orange, lots of spice. Pretty good smell for a witbier. Taste is similar with the orange coming out a bit more. Very light and and easy to drink but also pretty flavorful. At the right price point, this is a worthy beer and would be quite refreshing on a warm day. Nice.

On draught at the Issaquah pub, White Frog is an extremely murky, almost milky looking straw yellow with a small white head that leaves nice lace.

Smell is grainy, some sulfur.

Taste isn't too good. This is a sub par wheat brew with too much corriander. Grainy. Where are the esters?

Mouthfeel is dry, some creamy carbonation. Medium bodied.

Drinkability isn't too high, a poorly executed, and designed wit.

had this at the huge kickbacks dinner in Jacksonville, FL. I took some notes but mostly doing this from memory.
Appearance: cloudy mess of a complexion
Smell: spicy and banana, orange
Taste: most complex belgian witbier I have ever had. lots of tropical, banana, orange, spices. you name it.

Pours a hazy golden straw color with a fizzy white head. Nose has cloves, sweet fruits, spicy yeast, wheaty malts and herbs. Taste is a bit light. Sweet fruits and floral greens. A tad light, but well carbonated. Nothing special, but a nice session beer.

22oz bomber received from my brother as a Christmas present and forgotten until now. No freshness date on the silkscreened bottle, though it indicates it could have been brewed either in Newport or Issaquah.

Pours a slightly hazy gold color, with lots and lots of bubbles visibly shooting skyward. Despite this bubbly busyness there's only the barest quarter-inch of white foam making a short appearance, though a foam collar did hang around for quite a while.

A little bit spicy in the nose with some faint, biscuity maltiness. Doesn't exactly smell like a flavor bomb.

Surprisigly, there's quite a bit more going on flavor-wise than I expected from the nose. It starts off with a cider-like refreshing fruitiness, then things get a little more spicy, with coriander and orange peel standing out. Note that none of these flavors are particularly strong, and it's not as tart as most witbier, but it makes for a pleasant drinking experience. The taste ends on a modest dry note that I found preferable to the cottonmouthy finishes I have encountered with many hard ciders.

Fairly light bodied, with a soft yet slightly prickly mouthfeel.

A surprisingly refreshing beer, especially since it sat forgotten for about three months. I'll have to try a fresh one to compare it to.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a hazy, medium yellow that wasn't as white as I expected. Less than a half-inch of white head dissipated quickly, leaving minimal lacing.

The expected aromas were there but far more muted than I was anticipating. The usual spice and orange flavors were there but, again, more muted than I expected.

Body and drinkability were average for the style, with no noticeable flaws or highlights. Wits are one of my favorite summer beers, and while worth trying if you see it, I prefer Great White from Lost Coast over this local brew.

This Belgian-style wit is almost more of an American wheat beer than the spiced Belgian variety. It has strong wheat contours with a thoroughly opaque, clouded body of pale orange-cream and is not driven by excess spice or exotica. Instead, it is impeccably dry, crisp, and grainy and shows modest suds.

Easy in temperament, but also restrained.
