After searching far wide, this is by far the best store in the area, definitely the best in Monmouth County. The beer section is not expansive, but what is there is excellent. As you walk in, there is a display with a great selection of craft and foreign beers - Founders, The Bruery, Lost Abbey, Mikkeller, and others. The selection is not as varied as places like Oak Tree in South Plainfield, but I what they lack in quantity, they make up for in quality. Prices are pretty good as well.

The service was excellent. After browsing the craft section a couple of minutes, their beer guy for the night came over and started chatting me up. I asked him about some of the rarer and more sought after beers this time of year. He let me know about when they would be getting some in, and got me another from a back. They also have a frequent flyer card that allows you to keep up to date on their craft arrivals.

Definitely the best store in Monmouth and the Shore area.

Court really does a great job with the space they have ensuring the selection will be quality. The import section features a good number from Mikkeller and Struise and a deep stock of Italian brews as well as a push to get new labels like Amager Bryghus from Denmark and Olvisholt from Iceland amongst others.

They have a couple labels from Firestone Walker, get a nice selection of Dogfish Head's special or limited brews, Epic is featured, and always something smaller in distribution for the area like a White Birch or Old Schoolhouse from Washington state.

Of course wine and spirits are to be had but they also add the touch with a sizeable humidor selection so a cigar pairing isn't far off. I did notice on this last visit they were carrying Dogfish Head/Brooklyn Brine's Hop-Pickles which I haven't seen elsewhere.

Central Jersey on the coast isn't flush with options but Court Liquors would stand out in any market and is clearly the best choice in Monmouth County. If you're visiting anywhere from Middletown in the north to Sea Girt in the south it's worth the 25 minute drive to visit.

This place is a gem, not the biggest but they certainly make up for that with a top shelf selection of the harder to find selections (Firestone Walker 15, anybody?) Some of the more extreme stuff found here too. One of the few places to carry EKU 28 Eisbock..bonus!

It's about a 60 min round trip from me, near the coast and well worth the drive. They carry the usual micros and macros too but they really shine on the higher end stuff. Beware...if you're like me you can easily have that 'kid in a candystore' experience. Try 'em.

By far the best craft beer store in Monmouth county.
the craft beer section is growing by the week, and the
staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. all top shelf craft brews are Represented.
They also have craft beer tastings from time to time.
I spent a lot of time searching for beer in Monmouth county,
court liquors  is by far the best.
If your not looking for just craft beer you will find that it's adequately stocked with wines from around the world. the liquor section has everything you could want.  if your in need of a good cigar or a humidor,  you will be happy with the selection.
Don't wast your time searching for a fine beer store. court liquor is your place.

One of the virtues of Beerfly is that when you travel you have a way to find someplace that offers beers worth drinking. So in preparation for a visit to this area of New Jersey I took a look at the reviews of Court Liquors.

Not much has changed at Court Liquors since the earlier reviews. Most of the store is devoted to liquor and wine, but the beer selection is definitely respectable and worth a look. The selection is small but reasonable, and shows a nice range of quality beers and some thought in deciding what to offer.

I went in looking for some craft beer in cans and found that they had the range from Oskar Blues--the Gubna, Dales Pale Ale, Gordon, Mama's Little Yella Pils, Ten Fidy and Old Chub. Well, needless to say that was fine with me. I also was tempted by several of the bottles (both chilled and unchilled) since they had a nice range of Mikkeller beers, several top quality Belgians and several domestic craft brews. If you are in the area this is definitely a place to visit for a look-see. I think you'll find something to suit you and probably even something new to try if that's your goal.

Caveat: This review is coming from a salesperson for a wholesaler. Every effort is being taken to be as neutral as possible, but my perspective is a little different. Take my review with a grain of salt and/or investigate for yourself.

I felt the need to post a new review because this store has changed in the past couple years and IMO it's gotten better. Their selection has changed to focus on higher-end craft imports and better domestic selections. Their resident beer geek, Joe, brews his own beer and has tailored the selection to include beers to his liking, many of which are high gravity.

Other stores in the area might have a larger selection, but there are items here you won't find anywhere else. Breweries like Dieu du Ciel, Nogne O, Birrifico Barley, EKU, Birrifico del Ducato, Birrifico Montegioco... you get the picture. More importantly, the store focuses on making sure someone on staff knows the beer so they can describe it to a customer.

They also have some of the import standards: Chimay, Unibrowe, Chouffe. And they have a good selection of domestic craft beers: Dogfish, Oskar Blues, Great Divide, Troegs, Riverhorse, Blue Point, Stone, Allagash, etc.

I was in this store yesterday and I know they have some tasty limited releases left including Troegs Dead Reckoning Porter and Weyerbacher Slam Dunkel.

Certainly a worthwhile stop if you're looking for that extra-special beer, a really good 6-pack or just a good beer discussion.

Court Liquors in the Deal area, exit 105 on the Garden State Parkway, is a mini-oasis of craft beer. There are numerous people coming through this area for the ocean, for shopping, for business and like me for family. There is a reasonable selection of Dogfish, Belgian, Rogue, Troegs, Shipyard, and a German section. Perhaps 80 plus different varieties in all. The prices were standard, no single bottle splitting. FEW MACROS, mostly craft beer. Service was there to smile you on and show you where everything was. They could use a second cash. The store is clean and well-organized. All of the lager bottles were available non-cooled. If you are in this part of New Jersey, you won't do the bulk of your beer shopping here, however you certainly will have a variety of beer to last for the weekend. The wine selection was also selective and mostly higher end.
