This place is a long six-block walk from Barleys brewpub, but worth the effort. It isn't far, but seems quite a bit longer than six blocks.
Inside, the vibe is cool and trendy. Bricks, a nice bar, and a few tables. However, the place isn't above some TV entertainment (and neither am I) via two projectors on the wall. Entertainment that doesn't detract from the vibe.
I was disappointed by the beer selection when I entered and saw tap handles visible above the bar - all the wannabe good-beers were there (you know, the beers you see in places trying but failing to be good-beer places): Boddington's, PBR, etc. However, there were a ton of great taps hidden behind the bar, and an extensive bottle list and selection was terrific. Beers were a bit pricey.
I was tempted by the cheese plate, but didn't have any food. The menu was light, but looked terrific.
Service was OK...wasn't quick nor especially friendly, but got the job done.
From what I've seen of this town so far (which admittedly isn't much), this place has the best beer selection in town. I'll be back.
