I don't get why people foam over this place. I've had a number of bad experiences and I'm never going back. From getting scolded about bringing in a soda (with a lid on it) to almost buying a year old sixer, this place isn't for me.

Yes, the staff is knowledgable and seem friendly but I always feel like I'm being watched in here. It's a litte too much. Then, when I ask what's good, I'm steered to the most expensive selections.

Which leads me to my biggest complaint about this place. Their pricing is out of whack. I know I may be comparing apples to oranges but when they charge $13.99 for a 4 pack of Sam Adams Pils when you can get it at Total Wine for $8.79, that's highway robbery to me. Yes, you're paying for convienence. I'm just not convinced the pricing is where it should be.

Yes, they have a phenominal selection in Brandon and all of Tampa for that matter. I just think the bad outweighs the good here.

I agree with most of the comments of Kingdom Liquor and the owner. I am not on a first name basis with him but he is very knowledgeable and customer service friendly. The store does have a very good selection of beer, American Craft and fine imports. I do not get involved in Beer trading and am no expert on the subject of Craft Beer, but I am a big fan especially of the local brews like Rapp, Dunedin, Seventh Sun, and of course Cigar City. My only negative comment would be the pricing seems high especially on single bottles. Overall a good place to find the beer you are looking for.

I recently spotted a new store being built on route 60 near the Chili's (in front of Sam's Club) next to Ploy Thai restaurant. The store front sign was just put up last week or so, so I imagine it will be opening soon. The name is Craft Beer Cellar, which appears to be a small chain started in the Boston area, according to their web page: www.craftbeercellar.com. If this store is like the others they will have a great selection of craft beer as well. I'll be sure to check them out and submit a review when they open.

Edit: The place I referred to above " Craft Beer Cellar" has now been open for 5 months and I am a regular. The atmosphere is awesome, décor, music, friendly knowledgeable staff! The selection is the best by far in all of the Tampa Bay area that I have found. They sell only true microbrew craft beer including imports. No crafty beer here at all! Kudos for that! They also carry a decent selection of cider and mead.

They will take your name and number if you requested a certain beer, and then call you if they get it in. They don't play games with the "special" releases or jack the prices up like crazy. Recent example: Cantillon Lamvinus $27, at KL he was asking $46!

New game in town and it is the champ at this point! BTW I head the other day they now have the correct license to have beer tastings and offer samples! Stay tuned to this place.
Cheers!

I began patronizing "Kingdom" about 7 years ago and have never looked back. I have surely been in many a beer store over the years but this little hidden gem in Brandon is surely the overall best. You will not meet a more knowledgeable proprietor than Deepak. The guy has a memory like a steel trap when it comes to beer. He has detailed knowledge of his rather extensive selection and he somehow remembers all of your personal likes and dislikes. Whenever I go in, which is quite often, he manages to lead me to several high quality brews. He has my personal taste memorized and he is rarely off the mark. If your looking for personalized and friendly service, hard to find and rare beer, a wealth of knowledge and great conversation, visit Kingdom Liquors.

Sometimes, the owner makes the experience. This is one of those times. Every time I go in, I feel as if I'm visiting an old friend. I stopped in the first time, asked a couple questions, received great informative answers, and then stopped again maybe a month later. On that second visit, he not only remembered me with a greeting and smile, but he remembered exactly what I had purchased a month prior, and asked how my selections were by name! Great place, great selection, great location, and top-notch service. Service like this is like stepping back in time to the old barber days where you would never want to get your haircut anywhere else, because your barber has actually become a friend (if that makes sense to anyone). Great place, great selection, great owner!

I visited Kingdom a couple of weeks ago while vacationing in the Tampa area. Deepak and his wife were two of the most friendly people I've ever encountered and I doubt there's a more knowledgeable beer guy in Florida if not the region. I picked up all kinds of crazy stuff we can't get in Oklahoma. Deepak is apparently well known by beer drinkers in the area as everyone I mentioned the store to went on and on about him and the store. I'm not sure how he fits such depth and breadth of selection is such a small space but he pulls it off. It really is an oasis for beer drinkers.

I hit this store totally by chance while rolling through Florida on vacation. We had stopped for something, and it was the closest store on my gps. When I pulled up, I was worried as the store is fairly small, but they had a solid selection of beers. Needless to say, I stocked up. They had a great selection of singles, which is nice for an out of towner. The guy running the place couldn't have been nicer. He seemed to really know his beer. Picked up a lot of stuff that isn't available in my area (Cigar City of course!) Well worth seeking out.

You won't find better service at any location at Brandon. Depak gets in a ton of less common brews for the Brandon area, and remembers what kind of things you like for further suggestions. Huge selection of Belgians for the area, too bad they're not exactly my bag. Singles are abundant, and just about every new arrival gets separated into the singles section. The best selection in Brandon, as well. The prices are usually a bit higher than other stores in the region, especially for more widely available brews, but it's a great store with great, knowledgeable owners that's worth the cost.

Kingdom is very near the Brandon Town Center in a strip mall that just lost its anchor store (Old Chicago). There is exactly *1* parking space designated for the store; however, now that the anchor is gone, it's pretty easy to park.

As it is a very small store, Depak and his wife are very careful with what they offer. As a result, you will find a number of well-distributed (for FL) craft beers (e.g. Bell's, Great Divide, Southern Tier), as well as harder-to-find items (e.g. Nogne-O, Dieu Du Ciel ).

Perhaps odd for a retail experience, what you get out of a visit is what you put into it. Depak is truly a beer geek, and is happy to spend a great deal of time discussing beer with any and all. He is a proponent of sharing and enjoying beer with others; therefore, he often limits purchase quantity so that more people will have a chance to experience.

Yes -- his prices are often more expensive than high-volume chains. In return, you are supporting a local family that cares about beer as much or more than you do. Over time, you will find yourself with access to non-displayed items, items reserved for you, and even free things for you to try.

If you are in the Tampa Bay area, Kingdom is definitely worth a visit.

Look sharp for this most excellent beer oasis in what is usually a poor market (FLA) for craft beer. Located in a small strip of shops/eating establishments in Brandon, Florida, this is a place that will not disappoint.
Granted the space is somewhat limited when compared to beer stores in Cleveland, there was a very nice selection of local (Cigar City Brewing) and national breweries represented. Nice to see Bells (MI) and Hopping Frog (Akron) this far south. Plenty of Belgians represented.
The owner, Depak, is very knowledgeable and we chatted about various styles, breweries and his ability to procure a varied selection.
Prices are comparable to the Total Wine conglomerate, which is ubiquitous throughout FLA.
This is a nice sign that Florida may be warming up to craft beer and vacations will not be void of choice beer.

Kingdom is a small store in an otherwise generic little strip mall not too far from Bandron's mall. It also isn't too far from my in-laws house, so it is my beer destination when we're visiting.
For being a small liquor store, the place is packed with beer and beer is the main product being sold here. There is some wine and liquor, but craft beer is definitely the focus. Given the space limitations, I don't even think Kingdom sells macro beers.

There are only three isles in the whole store. The middle isle is dedicated to beer as is the entire rear of the store. In the very back there are some refrigerators stuffed with craft beer. There are also some singles available as well.

The main focus for the beer appears to be American craft: Cigar City, Bell's, Schmaltz and some others. There is also a decent selection of Belgians available as well, but the choices are more limited. I was impressed by the selection available (it was the best selection of beers I've personally ever seen in Florida), though I was also reminded at the limited availability of some products in this market.

Service is great. The shopkeeper, Depak, is a great guy with a passion for sharing good beer. I think he knows he could do more business being a "regular" liquor store, but he has made the choice to dedicate himself to quality brews and I salute him for that decision.

Prices seemed fair for the quality of product available.

I live out in the craft beer wasteland that is Plant City, FL so for me to find a place with a good beer selection i have to drive Either all the way over by USF or to Total Wine which eats up beer money in gas. After doing some looking around online i found that Kingdom has quite a few positive reviews so I decided to check it out. Pulled up and the first thing i notice was this was a small place, but don't let that fool you the beer selection is exceptional for a place of it's size and even better than many bigger establishments. When i walked in the owner was conversing with another customer about Wine at the Check out and still took the time to stop and greet me with a smile when i entered. The The center of the store is totally dedicated to beer. 750's and 32ozs of craft beer take up the entire left side of the aisle with a large slection of Belgian brews and other foreign selections on the right. The aisle dead ends into the coolers which are packed with a great slection of craft brews in 4-6pks and large bottles. The whole back part of the store also features shelves with a ton of 12z bottles which allow you to build your own six pack or more. The prices are what a expect from a small business a little higher than Giants like Total Wine but what i save in gas and the satisfaction of helping out a small business doing it right is well worth the extra buck or so. Overall this is an outstanding store and i would recommend it to anyone.

I was driving south on Interstate 75 on the way home to Sarasota when I remembered hearing about this store in Brandon. So I stopped by.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. While I was there, several repeat customers came in and were greeted and directed to their desired beers.

They have a wide selection for a small store, with many Belgian beers I haven't seen before. Lots of singles available and a good amount of beers in a cooler if you need it cold.

It's expensive, which is probably because it's an independent place that can't do huge volume deals like Total Wine & More.

Being more than an hour away, I wouldn't make a special trip. But if you're in Brandon this would be worth a visit.

I stopped in while passing by on 75. This is a very nice, organized and clean store in a busy shopping area. They have a fairly even mix of beer, wine and spirits. The selection is outstanding for Florida but not as much when compared to other areas of the country. They have lots from all over the US and a good supply of Europeans (especially Belgians).

The guy that runs the place is very helpful and really seems to know his stuff. The prices are pretty high though. If I were a local, I'd use this place to pick up harder to find beers but it wouldn't be my regular source.

I certainly suggest a visit if you're in the area or passing by.

About 15 minutes from the heart of Tampa. Very nice service, and a very decent selection second to Knightly Spirits in Florida from what I have heard and seen. Well kept though beers are getting into other aisles and missable. Perhaps 250 types of beer. Con: high price on most bottles. Many singles, and I don't mind paying a bit more to get that rather than have a six pack on my hands. Saint-Somewhere was reasonable. Some great selections like De Mole, but your talking $23 a bomber.Looking for unique and unusual, but little of that noted.

This is by far my favorite beer store. Yes the selection is good, but my reason for going is the owner Depak and his wife. They both work the store and are the most dear people you will ever meet. They are truly friends of mine and I can't say that I have become friends with anyone else who runs a store. They treat their regular customers like VIP's and keep fresh stock in their store so no worries about skunky beer. The prices run higer than average but he runs a small store and does not carry low end stuff. If your in Brandon this is the place you want to go to get bottled beer.

This is one place that is well worth the visit.
The service is top notch. You can't find any friendlier and kind owner than Deepak.
Everything about him shows that he loves what he is doing and it is reflected in the service you get at his store. He will walk you all over the store, making recommendations, showing you new arivals, ... you can tell he loves what he is doing.

This is the type of stores you want to keep going to. First of all because your money will help support the local businesses and not these liquor supermarkets.

Second, he will keep getting the most hard to find beers coming to the store.
The store has an amazing collection of wines, meads and most importantly beers. From very hard to find to the most general craft beers, there is something for everyone and every wallet.

He has some very rare beers that he keeps hidden in the back and might be willing to sell to a few selected customers who know how to appreaciate a good beer.

When it comes to supporting people like Deepak who are trying to diversify the local market of craft beers, it was well worth the 30 min drive.

I got there just as they were opening, so I was the only one in the store. Deepak, the owner, was extremely friendly and knowlegdable about beer. This guy is a true beer lover! He had some selections that I had never seen before, including: Harviestoun Ola Dubh, Nils Oscar Sweedish Barleywine, and yes he carries St. Somewhere! I've kept my mouth shut. I'm sorry Beer Advocate friends! This place has been my little secret. However, since the owners are such wonderful people I decided to share the wealth a bit. Just don't buy up all my stouts and porters!

My fiance's parents live near Brandon and every time we go to visit (or just need good beer) we go by Kingdom. It's truly the best customer service experience I've had in ANY store in ages. I run a real estate office by trade, so I'm a huge stickler for customer service. Well, the owners are absolute kings.

When walking in you'll see wines and more wines. Fear not true believer! For you are about to find a motherlode of the beers you want. Rogue? All of them. Dogfish Head? Take your pick. Avery, Lost Coast, Bell's, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas...the list goes on and on. Not just these - tons of foreign beers, rarer domestics. He's not afraid to try a new beer no matter where in the world it's from...provided it's worth his and your time. I know Knightly Spirits in Orlando gets a ton of love in Central Florida....and rightly so. Their staff is tremendous and the "wall of Belgiums" makes jaws drop. However after finding Kingdom I don't take the long trek to Orlando as much.

Deepak is a true beer lover. Some get a bit worried when they walk in - why are you asking me questions? He's a beer lover folks! He loves to talk microbrews and more! He has turned me on to some exquisite beers and I'm in his debt. After my second or third visit he REMEMBERED what I like. THAT makes this a wonderful store because he gets a lot of great, rarer beers in many styles. If I walk in, he knows to find stouts and porters. If my fiance does...IPAs and barleywines. It's nice to have personalized service. He's not afraid to say, "Try this one. That one isn't quite as good". He's a frequent visitor of Beeradvocate and Ratebeer and knows what beers people like and which they don't. It's nice to see.

On a side note - amazing to me that so many liquor stores put the Wine Spectator ratings with their wines but never so much as check this site to tell you what beers are great.

Great selection, beer knowledge and decent prices make this MY liquor store of choice...despite being 45 minutes from my home. It is worth the drive to have such good service and to find the beers I want.

My highest recommendation folks...do yourself a favor and check it out. And as long as the couple from Sarasota aren't there, feel free to buy a stout or porter too... ;)

Just got back to NJ after a weeklong vacation in Florida. Being I was staying near the Brandon area, I made it a point to stop at Kingdom. Reading the positive reviews on BA website lead me there. I was extremely impressed with what I found, enough so I made a second visit to the store while there.

The service was second to none. The owner, Deepak, was very willing to talk shop. I explained that I was from NJ and looking to try new beers that I can't readily find there. He pointed out several and made some recomendations of some of the beers he had recently drank himself. The store was very clean.

The selection was very extensive compared with places I have been before. Numerous Belgians that I have never seen in NJ. Also had a great number of limited edition and seasonal brews too numerous to name here. For people from an area where they can't readily get products from Rogue or Dogfish Head, I noticed he had a variety of both, possibly all available from the brewer at this time. I also liked the fact that a big part of the selection was not refrigerated which made it easy for the beer to travel with me sans cooler.

I found beers priced anywhere from $1.29 to $180.00. There's something for everyone's budget and taste. I put together a case of 24 singles for under $100.00 with several in the case in teh $9.00 range.

Thanks to a fellow BA on the tip. This is an incredible little beer store. I believe they have about every beer available in Florida. As with the other great beer stores I've been to in Florida, not a lot of space. When you get to the beer section, however, you really can't ask for much more. Excellent selection of Belgians, and all of the micros currently available in this area. I would rate them right up with Knightly in Orlando and Beer World in Largo for the best overall selection (sorry WOB!). I wish one of those stores was down my way! For now, Total Wine will have to do. Next time I'm up that way, I'll definitely stop again.

I was surprised to find this establishment still open, as I had heard bad information last summer that it had closed. Turns out it just had changed ownership and is still open in a strip center just down from Old Chicago.

This is a relatively small "neighborhood" type liquor store with a good beer selection. Nothing terribly rare or outstanding about their selection, but they have a solid lineup of imports and micros, undoubtedly the best in the Brandon area. The prices were not cheap but not unreasonable either considering the selection. I also like the fact that they had a good selection of individual 12 oz bottles. Often times stores like this will sell in 6 packs only. It also appeared that the stock was fresh, there were a lot of seasonal winter and holiday ales and nothing looked like it had been sitting around on a dusty shelf as sometimes happens in smaller stores.

Overall, a retail store worth a visit if seeking a good beer selection in the Brandon area.

Brandon. Just a few doors down from Old Chicago. So if you didn't get enough hops, head down to Kingdom where the IPA [plus] will give you some choices to take home with you.

I'm pretty sure they have every available Dogfish Head offering.
I think i tried them all! As I'm not from the east coast, i was able to try many different brewery IPA's and even double IPA's.

When you first approach this place, it is small looking, and narrow, and may not hit you as a great beer shop. Head straight on in, and go down the middle. Lots of imports and better yet, American Micros on either side of the isle. Most aren't refrigerated, but then neither does BevMo. They do have both IPA's and even double IPA's refrigerated, so you can take them home and enjoy right away. I'm not sure abut Dogfish prices, they seem a little high, but this might be normal.

This place is absolutely worth checking out.
