Appearance is not so great. Aggressive pour yields about a half finger of soapy head. Fair lacing though. Smell is mild dank grain husk. Taste is where it picks up a bit. Bitter hop forward taste with a touch of bready malts. Here is a bitter hop lover's dream. A 5.25% abv with 96IBUs. Not sure I believe those numbers as the website lists the abv as 5.6%. The mouthfeel is light to medium and the carbonation is just barely enough. Finish is long bitter finsih but somehow refreshing as well. A search for bottle date was found on the bottom of the bottle. A Julian date. 275 14. So it was about 4 months old.
That helps explain why the head was so small but the lacing was alright. I will try to find a fresher version next time. Watch out for the yeast layer on the bottom of the bottle if you don't want a cloudy pour.

A: Amberish, mostly opaque appearance. Small head.

S: Caramel, malt, and a bit of a sea breeze finish, if that makes sense.

T: Less hops, more malt-forward approach. Floral notes are there, but it's subdued compared to malt and barley.

M: Warm with mild carbonation. Medium body that fits the 5.25% ABV.

O: Easy, drinkable IPA that meets the expectations of its moderate ABV. Nothing you'd shout from the rooftops about, but it's enjoyable any time of day or night.
