Sampled today, review from notes. Murky mahoghany, light gets through it, more brown than black. Plain malt and grain smell. Lactic tartness and cherry pit that seems more like a sour brown ale than a porter. Dry finish, watery with moderate carbonation. This definitely seemed like an infected homebrew rather than and intentionally sour ale. As much as I love sour stuff, this was just too weird to be a porter.

Picked up a one liter, swing top bottle last week of Doc's Porter.
Pours a black to very dark brown with hazey garnet highlights, sediment at the bottom, and no head or lacing at all. Soft coffee and cheap cocoa aromas mix ith some very faint roasted malts. The taste with this as well as all there other beers, there was a tart flavor similarity in all of their beers. Starts with some faint roasted malts resembling coffee grounds and burnt currants. Pretty bland porter with a chalky texture. Not very sessionable.
Serving type: growler
