Served in September 2012.American light lagers and Pilsners are easy to drink and refreshing. They are not, however, easy for a craft brewer to make – but we are always up for a challenge. Pilsner malt and flaked rice provide sweet cereal grain notes while German and Czech hops add spiciness and a balanced bitterness to the finish. Cold fermented and aged with a German lager yeast, the palate is clean with a snappy finish.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear straw color with a small head of white foam. The head has a decent retention, fading over time and leaving a small amount of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a bready and doughy smell mixed with some notes of caramel and toast. Along with these smells comes a touch of earthy and herbal hop as well.
Taste – The taste begins with a crisp cracker malt flavor paired with a touch of grain and some caramel and corn. Along with these tastes comes a little bit of yeast and a hint of herb and earth. As the taste advances the sweeter tastes fad a touch as the hop gets a tiny bit more intense, in the end leaving one with a crisp and lightly hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a higher level of carbonation. Both the carbonation and feel are good for the style and make for a very crisp and easy sipper.
Overall – A rather nice light and easy drinking pilsner with just a touch more hop then normal. Overall, very drinkable.

Picked-up a single can at Total Wine in Braintree for about three dollars. My fifth brew reviewed from these guys. Best buy date of ?/21. This was warm, so stuck in the freezer for about 10 minutes. This is solid.

Loved the brewer, must when in Cambridge.

a) Pours a fizzy one finger head over a crystal clear straw lemon body, supported by a rising hail of bubbles. Lasts and laces.
s) Mostly grain, doughy malt, grassy hops, faint. too light.
t) Billed as hoppy pilsner - lacking in much nuance, lemon or hop. straw, bready malt, pilsner malts, grassy hop.
f) Lighter body, crisp, soft lager, and abundant carb. Mineral core makes it.

This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a nice looking clear yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated fairly quickly. Thin messy lacing shows some light rings of lacing. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. The smell started off with some sweet citrus hops, then some grassy hops slide in underneath and then combine with a light biscuity maltiness. The taste was basically the same with a light wet citrus to grassy to biscuity aftertaste. Smooth sweet, semi-crisp finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a mighty fine sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Light pilsener - like stickiness slides across my tongue. Overall, this was a pretty good semi-hoppy pilsener. At least for me, I’d have again. And would love to have with some brats.

12 ounce can into lager glass, best before 12/24/2016. Pours slightly hazy pale golden/straw color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, cracker, bread dough, biscuit, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon, cracker, bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, cracker, bread dough, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great balance and robustness of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast notes present. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/creamy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a great pale lager! All around great balance and robustness of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful and well balanced; without being too bitter or drying. A very enjoyable offering, and outstanding example of the style.
