Notes/Commercial Description:
Served in September 2012.American light lagers and Pilsners are easy to drink and refreshing. They are not, however, easy for a craft brewer to make – but we are always up for a challenge. Pilsner malt and flaked rice provide sweet cereal grain notes while German and Czech hops add spiciness and a balanced bitterness to the finish. Cold fermented and aged with a German lager yeast, the palate is clean with a snappy finish.

12 oz can. Undated.
Light pale color with a weak head.
Rather ordinary but veering off in the use of citrus -tinged hops.

Poured from a 12 oz. can, and yes, that can was provided by the incredible woodychandler. Has a bright yellow color with a 1 inch head. Smell is mild, some malty sweetness. Taste is malt forward, some lemons, a bit of sweetness, no real hops to speak of. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Very pale yellow, like dried wheat stalks. A nice, frothy 2-finger pale white head and no lacing. Light aroma, mostly faint malts and some czech hops. Dried grass clippings, caramel malts, oats on the nose. Hop-forward and malt-backward as this starts dry and finishes sweetish. Minimal aftertaste. Notes of light lemonade, some vanilla bean, shandy-esque and very light on flavor overall. Some earthy hops, but not much. Light mouthfeel and after. Overall it lives up to its name: LIGHT. A good porch or summer chore beer, but not much else.

Yay craft beer in cans!

Pours a decent fizzy almost 1 finger head that fades fairly quickly, reinforced by streaming column of bubbles, crystal clear watery straw slight lemony yellow color. 3.5

Nose mostly grain, doughy fresh straw and raw dough bready grainy, ligh grassy hops, faint touch of lemon cereal, fair fruity but crisp lager base. 4

Taste brings more of the same, straw mostly, bready doughy malt, toasty pilsner malts, grassy straw and a touch husky. Then into mild grassy hops, herbal grassy hops, noble hops, with fair to lighter bitterness. Plenty of fruity lager flavors too, a little minerality in the lager notes, not sulfur but a heavy mineral like. Fairly crisp though, light but full enough. Finish is dry and crisp, long mild grassy herbal hop, touch of straw and grainy malt also lingering. 3.75

Mouth is med to lighter bod, crisp, mildly soft lager, and decent carb. 4

Overall not bad, pretty much a nice German lager, with a decent noble hop, nice pilsner and straw malt, doughy, quite crisp, nice softness, a bit too much on the minerals, but still pretty tasty and enjoyable. 3.75
