Had on cask at the brewery.
Pours a hazy dark gold. There’s a muted hop aroma to this, one that is capable of standing on it’s own or as a break beer between more complex brews.
A pleasing maltiness comes through with each sip, balanced by a muted hoppiness that’s mellow and welcoming.

Note* Had in December of 2010 (review taken from notes)...this version was w/ Palisides dryhops.
Appearance: Dirty brown in color w/ a one-inch frothy head.
Smell: Mild & Sweet with what appears to be a buttery popcorn scent.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Mild and smooth with a buttery/caramel taste. Slight burnt noted and lighter in body.
Drinkability: This was my first introduction to Cambridge Brewing Co. and I started off with a winner (all of them were winners, IMHO)...this was very easy to drink...but I held back and stopped at one, so I could try some others.

On cask: Dry hopped with Cascade
This offering pours a cloudy dark maroon with hardly any visable light. It leaves a creamy thick tan head that stays with this brew. The smell is fantastic fresh earthy hops like taking a big breath of a hand full of hops. The taste starts smooth with hop bitterness balanced by a creamy, caramel, mouthfeel that finishes sweet with a herbal presence. This is a another solid offering from the CBC.

brewed with Perle hops
I feel silly adding yet another variant of ESB, but it's time to put a vanilla slot on the list. Besides that's all it says on the board: "ESB with Perle". Anyway:
Dark caramel beer with ecru caramel latte foam with a wonderful creamy texture.
Faint scent of a brisk wind blowing down from the piney mountains.
Smooth, smooth, caramel malt, with a funky spicy bite riding on top. Earthy finish, with a hint of fresh tobacco reminiscent of Fuggles. Plenty of pine resin glueing it all together.
Delicious creamy mouthfeel. Oh dear but this nearly drinks itself.
