On tap at NotF poured into a sampling glass. Reviewed from notes.

Pours a dark brown with a very small brown head that fades. Nose is malty and rich with a light fruitiness.

Taste is quite tart and fruity with a nice funk. Mouthfeel is very light and crisp. It's quite and drinkable, a very tasty beer!

flute glass, barrel fermanted sour wild ale....oh yeah!

a light brown color with little light popping through that has a brown-tinted, small and lacy head.

Sweet wild raspberries in the aroma, very tart cherries, pums and dates add more sweetness. Fruity and tangy.

Oooh, this puppy is tart! dry, wild fruits, sweet tart candies, tangy...not at all metallic! Subtle oak-wood flavors from the barrel fermenting. A dry but crisp feel, light, sparkling feel. This one is just right for late summer.

The colour is a nice brown, with mahogany hints and some golden tones.

Sticking this one up to my nose, I pick up on the alcohol right away. Some clove also comes out, along with stronger cherry and papaya.

Of course it's sour...cherry is early on in the flavour, and stays to the finish, as a spiciness creeps up on you.

The way it feels in the mouth is just a bit watery, with an alcohol overtone.

I find it quite drinkable, and I wouldn;t mind having more of this one.

Be well

Deep garnet color with a dense tan head. In appearance, this really did resemble a wine, possibly a Pinot Noir. Bright, tart, cherry aromas, offset by a citrus hop note. Sour tart cherry flavor. Accented by the hops. No character from the malt. It stays tart and bitter. Thin mouth feel. Medium drinakbility due to the tartness of the beer. Very Belgian very good.

On tap at CBC served in not quite a flute...

It's still like the cherry juice you get at Whole Paycheck. Sort of a cherrywood color with slight amber/brown. I mean, it's really still...

Leathery sour cherries are abundant and mesh almost perfectly with the sour and barnyard notes in here, creating a slightly pleasant nasal sting. There's a slight barrel taste to it - maybe a touch of bourbon and perhaps faint, faint hints of vanilla. Quite enticing.

Yup, it's sour, alright. Mild essence of cherry juice and huge sour acidity. As it warms the barnyard notes diminish, leaving it to be much cleaner than expected. There's still a little bit of funk in this rhythm, though. Cherries have a decent little bite. Barrel woodiness emerges with warmth as well. Very nicely done.

Definitely hangin' high and tight on the palate. Latent carbonation on the finish gives it a little zip. Hoppiness is nil, of course...maybe a tinge of pine but that's it. There's a huge cherry pucker fron front to back. A little dry funk lines it up nicely.

This one definitely has a biting kick to it but it drinks nicely for style. I usually don't have any complaints about CBC's stuff...no exception here. Solid.
