Poured from a 22oz bottle with a bottled on date of 3/11/14 (purchased at CBC, so just over a month old) into a 16oz Rastal Teku 2.0 stemmed glass...uber fresh!

A- Initial pour reveals an absolutely clear, golden orange color with about a 1/2 finger of a white, tight head with minimal retention (being that the second pour was significantly cloudy, this beer...like most Belgian beers is bottle conditioned). As the eyes are concerned, this is an absolutely beautiful looking beer. 5.0

S- Massively complex with hoppy aromatics dominating! Tropical fruit and citrus notes (pineapple, mango, orange, grapefruit) assault first followed some piney/minty resin then (courtesy of the Belgian yeast) hints of banana and clove spiciness. 5.0

T- Although undetectable in the aroma, the pilsner malt comes out of hiding and mingles perfectly with the hops creating a delightful experience. Malty/candi sugar sweetness hits first but is quickly wiped away by a grapefruit rind and pine hop bitterness. Far from astrigent, the hop flavor lingers and rivals any of the best DIPA's on the market. Being that an 8.0% ABV brew is no slouch, the alcohol is completely undetectable...a testament to quality brewing. 5.0

M- The Audacity of Hops finishes quite dry with a lingering piney/spicy bitterness demanding nothing more than another quaff. The carbonation is (dare I say) absolutely perfect. Despite the style, a non-nucleated glass (as I am using) stands to be the best glassware for this offering, as I figure that the dissolved CO2 is b/w 2.5 and 2.55vols. 5.0

O- I had this on tap at the CBC brewpub, yet I agree with fellow BA member StonedTrippin that this is better from the bottle. If you enjoy this style and can score it fresh (after all, the bottled on date is coded in yellow ink on the shoulder of the bottle), then get yourself 1, 2, 3 bottles...if not a case because this stands to be my favorite in the category...trumpeting Stone's Cali Belgique, Flying Dog's Raging Bitch and flirts with overcoming Lagunitas' A Little Sumpin' Wild. 5.0

A - Poured a hazy orange with a small head.
S - hops some grass, but the belgian yeast is most present.
T - Fruit, citrus, grapefruit, lemon, coriander and noticeable bitterness.
M - Medium body and a sweet finish.
O - Nice blend of styles and enjoyable as it warms.

Very interesting type of beer. A double IPA Belgium Style!
The color was consistent with so many other Belgium beers. A bit on the pale side with just a little murkiness. The nose was all Belgium! Could almost smell those wild yeasts being used. But adding to this, was a pleasant aroma of hops It was like having two worlds collide.
The initial sip was crisp, overloaded with carbonation. A Belgium taste with an IPA finish, and the finish was dry, very dry and lingering.
Second and third sips and I take back that carbonation aspect, but instead inject with a spunk live approach
Very interesting beer. I sort of like the name, The Audacity of Hops... To me, that meant that move over Hops, even though I am a DIPA, you are going to taste my Belgium style!

Clear gold, lots of bubbles rising to the surface, supporting a thin veil of foam, with some spotty lacing.

Smells of light malt and earthy hops.

Tastes of fruity and earthy hops, with a good bitterness in the finish.

Light body and dry on the palate. Moderate carbonation.

Loaded with fruity, earthy, and bitter hops.
