Presentation: On tap.

Appearance: Cloudy pale golden with a spritzy and lively carbonated white lace.

Smell: Yeast, clove, fruit and grain in the nose.

Taste: Crisp with a biting spicy clove, undertones of fruit and yeast with some malty wheat grain. Hop bitterness is there but minimal, cleanish after taste with some lingering grain, very mild phenols and clove followed by a warming alcohol.

Notes: Well attenuated and bursting with flavour ... on the high side of alcohol for the style yet does not get in the way. This is more than your standard bland American wheat Ale ... it is the real thing, German all the way.

Cloudy golden straw beer with a thin white lace. Fruity esters, banana, spice (clove) and phenols in the aroma. Crisp, light-bodied, fruity backdrop with a coarse mouthfeel. Mildly sweet & malty. Sharp lemon-y, bitter bite that is followed by a yeasty/spicy clove edge which rides into the finish.

I little less malty and alcoholic than previous years (5.5%), but this is still a delicious Hefeweizen, and one that I look forward to each summer. Skoal to Will Meyers!

Tap at Tavern in the Square Northborough

Nice creamy almost 1 finger head fades at a med pace, super hazy orange golden color.

Nose brings great hefe aromas, plenty of wheat, creamy wheat, little orange peel, mild esters, coriander clove like spices, etc.

Taste more standards, creamy wheat, nice big wheat flavor, into the citrus, little orange peel, mild esters and spices, coriander, clove, etc. Lighter but nice flavor, hint of bitterness. Finish is dry but a little sticky creamy feeling, little lingering orange peel and spices, and more wheat.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, nice creamy wheat, decent carb.

Overall a well done hefe for an American made beer, very solid, but then again I would expect nothing less from cbc.

On-tap at Cambridge Brewing Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

A- Hazy straw-yellow body. Two finger white head with good retention. Lots of lacing. Typical hefeweizen appearance.

S- Lots of cloves and spices, some banana, no bubble gum. Wheat, pale malt, noble hops. Smells promising.

F- Very good flavour profile with wheat, pale malt breadiness, distinct noble hops and of course the spices from the yeast. Banana, cloves, not much bubble gum. Very good.

M- Medium body, smooth and rich with a nice effervescence. Very easy to drink and very refreshing.

O- Refreshing hefeweizen that hit the spot on a humid, warm day like today. Drinking it outside at the CBC outdoor area made it even better.

A - On tap at Union Street in Newton Centre. Cloudy, but not enough so to prevent someone from seeing through it. Deep gold, hint of orange. The beer arrived with no head, and left no lacing on the glass. Makes me question the glass, given what other users have posted. Light visible carbonation.

S - I was outside and the beer was served in a large pint glass. Not the best. Basically stayed with my overall score for this. Really couldn't tell.

T - Nice light flavors, but there was some kind of underlying sourness that I didn't really like.

M - Really nice. The carbonation worked well here. Very pillowy feel.

O - I question the beer I was served. Lines not clean? Something off with the glass? Don't know. The beer was nice, and I would certainly try it again given the opportunity, but there are still a few on my list ahead of this one.
