3.5/5  rDev -7.2%
look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Arrives with a surprisingly dark amber color topped by a modest head that leaves a few dots of lace

Smell: Caramel dominant, with a bit of fruit underneath

Taste: The fruit leads off, with tones of apple and fig; caramel elements underpin the fruity character; an earthy hop character emerges, after the swallow, keeping the sweetness in check through the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A well made amber - what more can I say

Serving type: on-tap

Served with a minimal head, but the bubbles remain throughout the tasting. Some spots for lace. The liquid is brown with light passing through easily. Appears hazy.

Smells of brown sugar and crystal malt. No hop.

Lots of caramel up front, but it's not overly sweet. Good hop kick in the swallow, but it's not overly bitter. In all, a pretty nice blend. Rich body and below average carbonation. Short aftertaste--lightly sweet.

Poured on-tap at the brewpub and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, deep, amber-copper color with a clingy, filmy, off-white head. Nose of caramel, toffee, nut, and hints of mocha, also with a subtle roasting. Very rich nose. Flavors of rich and sweet forward, with caramel roast and toffee once again present. Light bodied, keeping the sweetness in check. More of the nut and mocha sweetness into the aftertaste. Slick, smooth finish. Solid brew.

On Tap at the brewery

A - Pours a clear brown red half a finger of white head, little lacing
S - Some sweet malt, a tiny bit of floral hops
T - Sweet and semi roasted malt, some earthy tones, a little watery
M - Thin and watery, no aftertaste at all
O - Not bad, but just your typical amber ale
