Had been wanting to try this and had the pleasure to do so on 5/1/10. Outstanding on every level. Amazing creamy head, just the right amount of carbonation for a beer of this magnitude. You certainly pick up a tad of the Utopias from the previously used barrel. May just be the beer itself but I did get a taste of it in there. More of this flavor than that of whisky for sure. Sweet but not overpowering. Nice caramel, toffee, raisin mix. Similar to Will's barley wines but the drinkability factor of this is a tad higher as it is not as sweet as the BW. Had 2 and considered a third. It's THAT good. Amazing beer. I'd love to have some of this aged.

Served in a snifter glass.
A) Poured with a finger thick head tan in color. The head settles fairly quick, leaving a creamy and semi-sticky lacing. Dark mahogany body.
S) Robust caramel and toffee malt aromas. Hints of raisin, apple and plums. The alcohol potency lingers just below the surface.
T) Caramel, toffee, and alcohol from the get go ... wow! The malts mellow leaving dark fruits and the alcohol. In the finish, a subtle citrus nip mixed with light caramel and an earthy alcohol taste.
M) Slightly syrupy. Full body. Light fizz. Alcohol effervescence.
D) Another great brew from CBC. A slow drinker due to the ABV but still a tasty bugger.
