Drank on-tap at Lord Hobo, Cambridge, MA
Served in a pint glass

The beer poured a slightly hazed, straw yellow and was topped by a thin, creamy, off-white crown. The head quickly faded to a clingy ring of froth. Sticky blocks of lacing coated the top quarter of the glass.

The nose was fantastically fragrant. As the name implies, the hops were quite flowery. Semi-sweet and exotic. Citrus notes were apparent. Some tropical fruits. A touch of honey was noticeable as well.

On the front end, the flavor profile was quite similar to the nose. Orange notes came through strong. Some tropical fruit sweetness. As the beer moved along the palate, the flavor profile turned substantially more bitter. Super pithy and dry notes of grapefruit rind dominated the back end and the finish. Pine needles were noticeable as well.

The mouthfeel was thin for the style, yet surprisingly creamy and slick. The liquid contained a fine, moderate effervescence.

Cambridge Brewing Company's Flower Child IPA is a good but not great beer. Maybe it just happens to be the name, but this reminds me a lot of a second rate version of Ithaca's Flower Power IPA.

Poured a hazy bronze hue with a one finger frothy white head. there was good retention and very good sticky lacing.

The smell featured clean piney hops with grapefruit and a light grain.

The taste offered a vibrant piney hop with floral notes with a grainy pale malt.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a highly quaffable hop forward IPA.

Poured into a pint glass from a 22oz bottle.

Pours a nice bright golden/copper color. There is some slight haze to it. There is a nice half inch white head that is thin but dense. Some sticky lacing is left as the brew goes down.

Aroma of herbal juicy piney hops. Grassy and herbal and flowery as the name states. Notes of some grapefruit and slight tropical fruit notes. More piney and flowery though. There is some slight sweet notes in the nose on the back end, mostly malty. As the aroma finishes there is a nice kick of slight coconut and tropical notes from the hops.

Flavor follows the nose very well. Starts of with biscuity bready notes and then quickly a delicious and intense piney hop punch. Nice and resinous and slightly abrasive on the palette for an IPA. Yummy underlying notes of citrus fruit. Some tangerine as well as grapefruit rind. These are more complimentary to the dank piney notes. Great single IPA. Delicious. The middle of teh brew has that bready bite that balances out the more piney notes. Great IPA. Mouthfeel is light-medium. Nice resinous hints make it seem heavy but the carbonation cleans the palette and the dry bitterness helps out.

A: Pours a slightly hazy orange with a foamy off-white head on top. Nice head retention, with sheets of lacing down the glass.

S: Some nice pine mixed with a little bit of floral hops. Faint grapefruit and orange rind. A bit of biscuity malt.

T: Nice citrus up front, some apricot and a bit of pineapple mixed with some pine. Definitely flowery, like the name implies.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Bitter finish.

O: Pretty solid IPA from CBC, would expect nothing less.

Bottled on 05/08/13

Slightly hazy, golden-orange with a big, fluffy, lumpy, bright white head leaving behind decent lace and retention. Very floral and fruity hops with some fragrant honey mixed in. Plenty of citrus and tropical fruit but I can honestly discern melon for the first time in a while and I always want to taste it. Similar taste with a great body. So damn smooth. The right carbonation. Everything is spot-on with this beer and it surpassed my expectations. Phenomenal IPA.

Very fruity solid IPA. I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary, but this beer is exponentially better than the very good "The Audacity of Hops" in my opinion. Really was smooth and was pitted perfectly with BBQ chicken. CBC continues to churn out good beers.
