24oz bottle poured into a snifter. Packaged 02/04/14.
A: Pours a clear golden amber with a dense white head sitting on top. As the head slowly dissipates it leaves loads of lacing on the sides of the glass. Average amount of visible carbonation.
S: Nice fruity hop aroma on this one that really focuses on the blueberry characteristic. Very impressive they got that much berry aroma from simply the hops. Sweet malt backbone brings up the backend.
T: Solid IPA with loads of hop flavor, a great bitterness and decent malt backing. Starts off with that blueberry fruitiness that was found in the the aroma which is by no means fake or imitation tasting. Bitterness takes the middle of the mix before a bit of sweet malts rounds out the flavor profile.
M: Medium body with ample carbonation. Hops give it a bit of dryness that compliments the crisp finish. Alcohol is well hidden in the bitterness.
Overall really digging the Yakima #291 hop with its intense blueberry profile. A very interesting addition that makes for a fantastic IPA.
