Poured from a bottle into a Triple Digit tulip. The pour is very pale gold, quite cloudy, and forms a tight finger of fluffy white head. The nose has lots of lemon, rose hips, white pepper, and a hint of the coriander.
Medium-light body with an herbal flavor and a firm feel. The beer has a wheat-beer-like character up front. It's grainy, cracker-like, and slightly tart. The hops ride in with notes of grapefruit, lots of lemon, and lavender. The beer has a dry finish and gets a little peppery on the back of the palate. Quite refreshing
When I read "experimental dwarf hops" off the label, I knew I had to try this. It's an interesting IPA. I don't think I'd categorize it as "Belgian", so I choose to rate it as an American IPA. It stands up quite well in that category and it has a pleasant herbal, flowery, peppery hop character. It's a nice change of pace for those of us who normally reach for the citrusy "West Coast Style" IPAs.

This is about as high a rating you will ever see me give to a wheat beer. I hate them in general. This one is pretty good and I attribute the hops to this to give that rancid wheat beer taste some kick. It was light in color, but the hops were there and made for a well balanced brew. I got this in a mixed 12 pack. Apparently every store in my area is running amazing sales on Sierra Nevada right now, I guess awaiting the Beer Camp. Which, is an amazing idea, but so far I have not been overly impressed. I am giving it a true chance though. This one is good. And from me that's a bold statement. Not that I am an expert, but I generally hate wheat beers. So, take it as you will. Those who don't like wheat beers but IPA's give this a try, those who like wheat beers you may still get something out of this. Hell, it may get you out of your wheat beer challenged world into some big boy beers!
