Easy IPA...not much taste here. More Pilsner-esk.

Clear and golden-hued, active carbonation, large and sturdy inch-high head, bright and white, taking it's sweet time drifting down, leaving lace.

Aroma: spills out of the glass, vibrant tropical fruit and citrus, piney notes just below. Lovely stuff.

Taste: Fresh, fierce and powerful on the palate. This IPA loads the mouth with a pleasantly bitter, pungently citric hop attack, and the malt body is light and crisp, the alcohol level low for easy drinking. I could put back a half dozen in a night, if I had to. Persistently pleasing flavor, makes a session IPA done right.

What's the official word: "Nooner IPA is light in body but big in hop flavor. This session IPA delivers a huge dose of citrusy and grapefruit hop character from the use of whole-cone American hops." that's from the box. From the label: "There's no better way to start a lazy afternoon than with a group of friends and a few beers. Nooner IPA is a session beer that's light in body yet big in hop flavor…blah, blah, blah…same stuff…"

Nice crisp pils. For a session lager it is quite good.

On tap at Bistro Menil, poured into a nonic pint glass. Crystal clear, bright gold yellow with a frothy white head. Crisp, grassy, slight citrus and spicy hops along with light malt in both nose and flavor. Moderate body and carbonation. Clean, dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Drinkable, refreshing and nicely balanced.

Pale gold in color, with a bright white cap of foam.
Aroma-Pale malt,fruity with a spicy hop note
Taste-Spicy hops, floral, crisp and sessionable. Would make a great beer to have at the ballpark.

i'm partial ti pilsners, and this is a decent one. It holds its head for a decent length of time. It has a peasant hoppy smell and the taste is not overpowering. The feel is fairly full bodied. Overall, this is a decent pilsner. Apparently it is now retired; I hope SN will bring it back.

I'm admittedly reviewing a very old bottle of SA Nooner IPA. Here goes:

A: Still looks good. Pours a huge head that leaves a ton of lacing. However, the carbonation in the glass is somewhat lacking (I attribute this fact to age more than anything).

S: Smells good, but rather simple. Lots of floral spice, lemongrass, citrus, and white pepper. Some biscuity malt as well.

T: Follows the nose. Very floral with a back-up of biscuit.

F: Only really bad part about the beer. Very light and watery. Perhaps this is because of the lack of malt sugars, but I've found other session beers that have been able to supply a full mouthfeel to their low-abv bodies.

O: Good, but not great.

Overall, good in 3 of the 5 categories, but falls woefully short in the taste category.
This is a fine looking beer. Golden yellow, perfectly clear, with a nice white head.
Aroma is spot on for a pilsner. Bready, crisp, with subtle hops.
Mouthfeel is fine, with a moderate amount of carbonation
Taste is sub-par. The first taste was old root vegetables. There was a lemony aftertaste, but what lingered was staleness.
Overall impression was not positive, based on the taste.
Not sure if this was a bad bottle. I bought it from a place that has the highest reputation for quality.

Tarnished gold with pocked, crusting off white froth. 4
Crusty, doughy fresh loaf with soap, leaf, and lemon oil hops - mild but fragrant. 3.75
Toasty grain with big juicy orange sneaking in early and turning more oily tangerine and salty grapefruit hops. 3.75
Slight white melon finish and pop of numbing linger.
Only just past light, slick, slightest chew. 3.5

-- Juicy little hit of citrus and real IBUs - not many but they’re there. It being SN, there’s malt still no matter how many hops, but in this case it might be a bit much: it pushes it towards being a punchy English-style pale. Combine that with a greasy yet slightly thin body, and - nice though it is - I’m not sure this hits the concept of a beer I want to session. 3.75

SN, with their size + skill, could’ve made All Day. They didn’t.

On tap at The Top in Gainesville. Pours slightly hazy golden with a small fluffy white head. Not a huge aroma here but some nicely floral hop aromatics with a hint of hay and light fruits. Flavor is lightly bitter, crisp, with a nice mix of grass, light citrus, and floral notes, and of course some of that characteristic SN flavor in there that I can’t describe. Light bodied with plus carbonation. Nice beer.

The nooner session is decent but not as good as others....e.g. Founders All Day. The beer pours a nice golden color with thin white head. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a solid offering but not the best.

Hazy pale gold with a large amount of suspended particles. Decent white head with good lacing. Smell is mostly floral hops. Taste is floral light grapefruit hops with minor malt for backing. Mouthfeel is light to medium and adequete carbonation. Overall a decent "light" IPA. Bottled on date is 1-29-14 so take that into account . I would rather they bump this up to about 5.5% to get a bigger flavor profile.

Served on tap into a nonic glass.

A- Poured a semi-hazy dark orane color with frothy off-white head that left glass coating lace.

S- Citric, herbal, some seltzer notes, but a lighter aroma.

T- Prominent citric hop notes, some herbal, and piney hop character, light malt backbone, and seltzer flavor.

M- Pretty smooth, prickly carbonation, and lighter bodied.

O- A pretty good amount of hop character for a session IPA and definitely on the lighter side.

Dark gold color, touch of haze. Lots of small bubbles rising. Thick bright white head.

Citrus, hop oil, leafy, some sweetness.

Citrus, grapefruit, a little pine and leafy. Some malt sweetness in the background. Finish very crisp, a little bitter. Body is light , refreshing, crisp, a little oily, dry.

An excellent Session IPA.
