"There's no better way to start a lazy afternoon than with a group of friends and a few beers. Nooner IPA is a session beer that's light in body yet big in hop flavor. By using intense, whole-cone American hops in our Hop Torpedo we pack this small beer with a hefty hop punch. Nooner IPA is light in body but big in hop aroma and flavor. This session IPA delivers a dose of citrusy and grapefruit hop character from the use of whole-cone American hops." Brewed in the style of an American Session , released in 12 oz. bottles and limited draft. Available within the 4 Way IPA Variety pack.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a Sierra Nevada tulip glass. Served above 55º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) Pours an off white head of a frothy foam consistency over a medium hazy amber body. Retention is very good, lacing is light and spotty. 4.25

(Smell) Cracker malts and lightly toasted caramel malts with a fruity, grassy and floral nose, lightly peppery, grainy. 3.75

(Taste) Cracker malt with a touch of grainy caramel body. Hops generate a peppery, lemony herbal tea and floral finish with a moderate bitterness. 3.5

(Mouthfeel) Texture is peppery, faintly husky, mildly dry. Carbonation generates a soft froth for a modest carbonation. Body is medium+ for the style, medium overall. Balance is nearly even, with a slightly prevailing bitterness over a moderately sweet body. Alcohol presence is low, and off characters are minimal. 3.75

(Overall) A very tasty session ale from Sierra Nevada with a lot of hop flavor and a decent hop bite. 3.75

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale yellow orange with good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Light herbal and citrus hops followed by pale and toasted malts.

Taste: More toasted and pale malts in the Taste than the hops. Mild bitterness in the rear too. Chewier and breading than most other sessions.

Mouthfeel: Light, crisp, refreshing, light to medium bodied, a little bitterness, and chewy.

Overall: I've had other light IPA'S and this one holds up well compared to others.

12oz bottle into SN hop glass. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a clear deep straw color with a huge, thick, whipped egg white (but airier and more delicate) bright white head that took forever to collapse into a thick rocky film that left a complex network of sticky lace down the glass.
S: Light notes of bready malt, citrus hops, earthy vegetable hops, lemon, and tea.
T: Mellow flavors of tea, lemon, and herbal hops follows the nose. The finish is bready and lightly sweet, and aftertaste is quick and easy. Not much citrus, more herbal, tea, vegetal, and earthy.
M: Very light bitterness, light mouthfeel, low carbonation, soft and creamy mouthfeel.
O: Light and easy, but not my favorite hop profile. Good but wouldn't buy again.

Slightly hazy, golden color with lacy carbonation and a small white foamy head. The nose was a gentle combination of hops, a bit grassy and piney, but the grapefruit-citrus is in there too. Real nice taste, Initial notes of maltiness are quickly overcome by the grassy hop flavors with a gentle spicy bit to them and finally a finale of fruity hops, I'd say grapefruit, but it's not that obvious. This IPA has a real light feel, just above water with an above average crisp carbonation.

Overall, a fine respectable IPA, balanced and mixed hops define the light ale. Nothing you would go way out of your way for, but its a session ale, and is a real easy yummy drink I would never refuse.

A: Hazy golden, carbonation bubbles constantly feeding to the top. .5 finger of bright white head, retained for over 15 minutes while I explored this beer and never went away...it's seriously unreal how long it is staying without shrinking at all. Lots of lacing, lays on really thick and sticks. This is a VERY nice looking beer, possibly one of the sexiest IPAs I've seen in a while.

S: Spicy, floral, hoppy, a little citrus

T: I still can't get quite on board with the session IPAs. Earthy hops, not a lot of malt backbone. A little bit of grapefruit rind in the back. Bitter, but not very balanced.

M: A little denser than most session beers, nice carbonation, foam from the head grazes your tongue once in a while.

O: Looks sexier than it tastes. Not awful, but needs more balance.
