Notes/Commercial Description:
This traditional English-style Brown ale using a hop derived from the English fuggle-Styrian Golding. It adds a nice hoppy spice note that balances nicely with this medium-bodied, slightly sweet ale.

I found this single 12oz brown bottle in the discount bin for $1, so I picked it up. Never had anything bad from Sierra Nevada, so figured it was worth the dollar price tag. Surprised to see only one other rating on here, so not sure if the beer has been discontinued or just not widely distributed yet.

The beer poured a medium brown color with red highlights when held to the light. It made a 1-finger off-white head that lasted awhile and left some pretty decent lacing.

Very weak roasted malt aroma. Not much else to this.

The flavor is rather weak as well. There's a little bit of roasted malt and a little bit of toasted grain, and a little bit of hop bitterness - but that's what's wrong with it. It has little bits of this and that without having anything assertive in it to make it stand out. It's not bad by any means, it just doesn't wow me in any way.

Light to medium bodied with rather high carbonation.

It's better than settling for a macro, but not up there with the best examples of brown ales either.
